    Default Mayweather-Pacquiao!

$150,000 and up for a seat ringside.

$87,000 per ticket for the sixth row.

Tom Brady, Mark Wahlberg and other celebrities make their picks in Mayweather-Pacquiao fight

    By Marissa Payne
    April 23, 2015

The contract’s been signed for May 2. The seats are for sale at Las Vegas’s MGM Grand. The “fight of the century” between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao is on and celebrities, including New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, NBA legends Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal, and actor Mark Wahlberg are starting to pick sides.

In case you missed anything in that flurry of a video posted by Showtime to the channel’s YouTube account, here’s a review.

Jamie Foxx: “This has been a long time coming… It’s ‘Money’ (Mayweather) man.”

Adriana Lima: “The fight of the century… Pacquiao!”

Michael Strahan: “Mayweather — he’s an artist.”

Diddy: “This fight is gonna come down to heart… Mayweather’s the champion.”

Charles Barkley: “Manny is an aggressive person. He got punches coming from every angle.”

Mark Wahlberg: “I’m going with Team PacMan.”

Shaquille O’Neal: “Mayweather, seventh round, knockout.”

Tom Brady: “It’s always about the ‘Money’ (Mayweather)!”

Liev Schreiber: “Never discount Manny’s ability.”

    Bill Maher: “Mayweather’s gonna win!”

    Khloe Kardashian: “Anything can happen.”

I am trying to think what kind of money I need to have in the bank to even consider paying 150K for a temporary seat.

I should get that seat for all time...

I think I you have more than 10 millions dollars and you're a real boxing fan (I mean real) and you know that it would be the biggest fight of the lat 20/25 years, than you can consider paying these kind of money for a seat.
Mark Walberg would easily pay for that, Dwayne johnson too. They both love Manny

I think most of us will be content with the Pay per view I will.

My heart says Pacquiao will win the may 2nd fight by KO.

My head is more confused. If we analyze to two boxers
Mayweather 47-0 record speaks for itself. However he never faced any big caliber opponents but Oscar de la Hoya who was at the end of his career and only the shadow of himself, and still he could have won the fight. Because it was really close fight.

Mayweather has speed, he is a defensive wizard. But he is boring to watch because he does not attack as many did.
    Handspeed : really quick
    Footspeed : really quick
    Techniques : incredible (for defense)
Punching power : Pillowfight level. But every landing punch is a point. He is definitely not a KO artist.

    Manny :
Handspeed : very fast (might be faster than may weather, or at least as fast)
footspeed : as fast as may weather
Punching power : for the category devastating. On a whole other level than Floyd's.
    defense : Good
Attack : Very good, he is known for his incredible tenacity.
    Technique : excellent too.

On paper Manny could win too in my O. Well we will see less than 10 days to go .
It would be good for boxing for Manny to win by KO. So that he can beat Floyd Again in the rematch.

As a hardcore boxing fan, this is a fight that I would not bet on. If you force me to make a pick, I'll say Mayweather by close decision. But I can clearly see 2 scenarios where Manny wins. 1. He blitzes him quickly like he did Marquez in the first fight and Floyd never fully recovers. 2. Manny is still fleet of hand and foot and could simply outwork Floyd over 12 rounds.

As far as Floyd, he's not the GOAT, nor is he even in the conversation. In fact, he would not be one of the 5 best welterweights of the 80's. With that being said, his boxing IQ and defense are of ATG status. I can see him timing and figuring Manny out en route to a 12 round decision.

This will be an interesting fight. I would go with Manny here. I will post more in the boxing thread soon.

That's what I deeply think but never bring up in a Boxing debate with guys without shouting at me : "Come on… ". And You're right !

If Floyd fought at 147 in the 80's, maybe I could rank him 5th. Although a case could be made that Benitez, Starling and Breland could have beaten him. Actually, any of those guys listed below in their primes would be better than any welterweight Floyd has fought to date. Looking at that list, that is one hell of a 10 man welterweight division.

    Leonard
    Hearns
    Duran
    Donald Curry
    Wilfred Benitez
    Floyd
    Marlon Starling
    Mark Breland
    Lloyd Honeyghan
    Milton McCrory
    Simon Brown

This Chart Shows the Crazy Money the Mayweather-Pacquiao Fight Will Make

The bout may draw in total revenue of around $400 million

Data from Forbes 2014 Fab 40, New York Times
Everybody’s going to win in Saturday’s fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao — when it comes to revenue, anyway.
No one knows just how much money the boxing match will pull in, but if the lucrative ticket sales are any indicator, it’s bound to be a legendary payday. According to New York Times estimates, the event’s pay-per-view broadcast could rake in around $270 million, with another $130 million from ticket sales, sponsorships, merchandise and other sources. In total, the legendary matchup could turn up somewhere around $400 million.
How might Mayweather-Pacquiao compare to other major sporting events? The fight may just clock in behind last year’s Super Bowl when it comes to total revenue, according to Forbes‘ Fab 40 2014, an annually updated list that ranks the top 10 sporting events with the highest revenue-per-day. (In other words, they’re ranked by the total revenue — broadcasting, tickets, the halftime show, concessions, licensing, etc. — divided by the number of days of the event.)
