Totally new, to everything.
Hello, I'm new here (obviously ) I've recently became active in the gym and am looking for advice on the best way to train/lose weight/build muscle/ improve diet!!! Also looking for advice on what's a good pre workout? There are so many options! I'm looking for something on the cheaper (yet effective) side, as I'm new To this and don't want to put a ton of money into something until I convince myself further I really am capable of achieving my goals!!! Thanks all for the help (:

Welcome to RX!
Since you're new to everything, I think your best bet - for starters - is eating clean and getting a consistent exercise program nailed. After that, if you feel as if you still want to add a preworkout, then go for it. I've never been a big fan of preworkout drinks. I'm on a tight budget too2016 RX Member of the Year & March 2015 Member of the Month

Mmmk...start by telling us:
1. What is your diet like RIGHT NOW. Timing, foods, approximate amounts
2. Give us some stats. Height, weight, any exercise background, goals.
3. How much time per day and how many days per week do you think you will devote to exercise? And what time of day will you be training?
Those things can help us direct you. There are MANY ways to skin a cat. All depends on the variables you are dealing with and where you want to get to.2016 RX Member of the Year & March 2015 Member of the Month

^^ What she said. The most successful body transformation occurs when the whole process becomes part of your lifetyle, as opposed to DIE with a T. Normally you don't need to get on some extreme diet to get results - instead start w/ what you do now and make some tweaks to it. Frequently just the action of actually looking at what you are really eating and quantifying it (i.e. put a typical day's meal plan into a food counts program like www.fitday.com to find out how many calories and carbs/fats/protein you are really consuming. People usually grossly over or under-estimate. It also highlights the type of stuff you eat and probably calls out where you tend to have cheats or random snacks. Once you have a baseline on paper, it becomes much easier for us to help you tweak what you do normally to optimize for better results.
Training is also about what you do and what to add.
Also note if you are currently sleeping well and current stress levels. Any good fitness program consists of: diet, training, recovery. People often forget about recovery. Stress and poor quality or not enough sleep jacks up cortisol which is what promotes belly fat. Bad!

Outside of what has been said already, let me add that you MAY need to eat more than you are currently eating. Yes I said more.
Lots of people think you get in shape by starving yourself. That does not work.
Once you tell us what you're currently doing and what your goals are, you will get lots of help here.
Good luck.Last edited by Sandpig; 05-06-2015 at 06:30 AM.
