Default DLB on American Ninja Warrior Season 7 premier

I believe - according to her FB Season 7 airs May 26

I don't usually regurgitate stuff from Facebook, but I haven't found any 'formal' announcement. Mostly it's just pretty cool and seems a logical extension for her. She's serious about the GO BIG OR GO HOME lifestyle! Very cool!

    GO DLB GO!

Eh.. sorry got a little messy getting the FB snapshot sized :c/

I hope she destroys the competition!

If I'm not mistaken, she was a gym teacher at one point.

That's an awesome pic. lol ^^^^

Googled DLB some more and saw this:

Dana Linn Bailey has reached the pinnacle of bodybuilding

By Courtney H. Diener-Stokes — Reading Eagle correspondent
    April 30, 2015

Professional bodybuilder Dana Linn Bailey has an impressive resume, including winning the Ms. Physique Olympia title in 2013.

Now she's ready for a new challenge.

"Now I'm training for the 'American Ninja Warrior,' " the Muhlenberg Township resident said. "It's an entire obstacle course that involves agility and balance. There is an Orlando (Fla.) competition coming up in May."

Bailey will be competing in the regional qualifying round to see if she can make it to the regional finals, and then the national finals, which are set to take place in Las Vegas in June.

To apply, Bailey completed a questionnaire and submitted a video.

"It was an assortment of questions from my background, accomplishments, things that make me unique and different, and a video explaining who I am and why I want to be on 'American Ninja Warrior,' " Bailey said.

Bailey was inspired to apply to be a contestant when she realized she wanted to pursue different fitness avenues.

"I have accomplished the number one goal, and now I want to diversify," she said. "I just want to test my body and try new things. I like testing myself."

You can find documentation of her training at an official "American Ninja Warrior" training gym on YouTube leading up to her competition. She is also eyeing some upcoming powerlifting events.

The seventh season of the show will air on NBC Mondays at 8 p.m. beginning on May 25.

    Competing with herself

Bailey has an outlook on competing that has worked in her favor.

"I compete with myself," Bailey said. "That is the way to do it."

This mind-set helped her nab the Ms. Physique Olympia title, where she established the standard for the physique category.

"Pretty much anyone in my shoes who competes, that is the end goal," she said. "I somehow did it in one year. Rarely do people win it."

Just so people are aware of the caliber of her accomplishment, Bailey, 31, painted a picture to enable them to better understand.

"Arnold Schwarzenegger, before he was a movie star, he was a six- or seven-time Olympia, and that is the same show he competed in that I competed in," she said.

After competing in bodybuilding for five years, Bailey got her pro card in 2011 and won her first professional show in 2013, which qualified her to be in an Olympia.

"I won the Dallas Europa (Games) of 2013 in August, and that was the qualifying win," she said.

After competing in her first Olympia, Bailey was automatically qualified to compete in it the following year.

"In 2014, this past September, I got second," she said. "Once you win the Olympia, you don't really do other shows."

    No time off from training

Bailey said she doesn't believe in off-seasons when it comes to training.

"I always watch the diet, do cardio every day, I train every day," she said.

    She said her workouts vary.

"I usually do cardio in the morning; now that it's nice outside I like to go for long runs about five to eight miles," Bailey said.

She might do the revolving stairs for 30 to 40 minutes.

"Then I usually do two hours of lifting at night," she said.

While Bailey trains herself for competitions, she receives nutrition coaching from pro bodybuilder and nutrition consultant, George Farah of Rochester, New York.

"I eat lean proteins, chicken, fish and turkey," she said. "We do mostly white rice or jasmine rice or sweet potatoes as my go-to's for carbs; veggies. anything green, veggies are unlimited."

In addition, Bailey said she takes multivitamins and vitamin C, as well as drinks a protein shake, made using whey isolate protein and water, post workouts.

    Unlikely source of inspiration

Bailey and her husband, Rob, found much of their inspiration in life from an unlikely source.

"It involved a business opportunity that went sour," she said. "We were broke and had to do something, so we started a clothing line. Instead of trying to go back to a 9-to-5 job, we took a leap."

Their clothing line, Flag Nor Fail, stands for no surrender, no failure, reflective of a pep talk Bailey and her husband felt they had to have with themselves when going through a challenging period in their lives.

"It had nothing to do with fitness," Bailey said. "It had to do with our life. It is more of a mindset you put yourself in. It can go for fitness goals or life goals, your job or your business."

They also opened a gym they call The Warhouse in Leesport, where they offer a day camp that changes monthly.

"They are inspirational seminars that include nutrition, inspirational messages, healthy lifestyle, fitness," Bailey said. "Just to be a better person and do better in life, and we explain how our business got started and how we got to where we are at."

    Passion for bodybuilding

A six-sport athlete in Muhlenberg High School's class of 2001, she was recruited to play soccer at West Chester University, where she was a kinesiology major. She said competition has always been in her blood.

"I started going to the gym everyday, and I started asking, 'What am I going for?' " she said. "I needed that competition with other people and myself."

Despite diversifying, Bailey said bodybuilding is still her main passion.

"I love the whole aspect of lifting weights," she said. "The whole bodybuilding thing is a true testament to your overall physical and mental and psychological ability, to be able to put your body through weeks and weeks of strict dieting and training. It is a huge regimen that tests your body on all levels. After all is said and done, you feel so accomplished."

Tres Bennett this morning on Facebook:

People ask me if I will ever compete again? Well age and injuries do hamper me from being able to work like I would like to but here is the thing. Do I miss being on stage, in condition, the anticipation of a first call out, the trophies, the overalls, sure that's what makes bbing exciting. But what do I really miss?
DLB and her hubby Rob came to my gym on their Tour a couple years ago. She was just a week out from her pro show. She looked great, met with her fans and it was a good time. Next morning she finished her workout then hit the stepmill at the highest level for about an hour, she literally ran those steps as fast as one cld go for an hour. She got off walked to the front to wait for Rob. She stood for a few mins then literally collapsed and laid on the ground limbs sprawled. When I saw this I was so jealous. You see that's what I miss. That feeling of being on limited calories, limited energy but you just busted your ass and literally had nothing left and its all you could do to crawl out of the gym. THATS WHAT I MISS, YOU SEE THE WORK IS MY ADDICTION AND WHY I CAN NEVER SAY NEVER!!!

I like DLB and wish her well.

But after watching that tiny gymnastics girl complete the course, I'm not sure Dana will make it.

Hmmm... heading home after all of her appearances in the coming month "to build stuff to practice..." Sounds like she may have done pretty well! She looked solid in her training videos, in fact making it look easy with her upper body strength!

Cannot hate on someone who goes out looking for opportunities and makes the most of those opportunities. No, she's not my favorite physique athlete, but I do have respect for her as a diverse athlete.

Fuck....I've been on airplanes like that and my shoulders aren't near as big as his.

The attendants would even move me if another seat was available.

They look like they just said "fuck it" to Kai. Placing him next to a fat guy like that is just cruel and unusual punishment.

A fat guy who is 6'8 and 430lbs of the strongest man in the world. If I had to come as a "fat guy" in another life that's what I'd choose to be like. Dwarfing Phil Heath in the video
