Why do some hate Rich Piana?

I think the question is pretty straight forward. I was on another site and I read comment after comment bashing him. In all honesty I can't knock a man for how he makes a living. I'd like to hear thoughts from you guys.

i used to think that some of his videos were good, the mutant ones mostly

You can't make a true assessment on someone until you actually meet them in person and have the opportunity to speak with them. I met Rich at the Arnold and we spoke briefly and have done so again on the phone, text and e-mail since then. The guy is straight-forward and doesn't jerk anyone off.

He says straight out in his videos for people to not buy his supplements and spend that money on real food, which will do more for you, and to only buy his stuff to use in addition to the food. It's kind of hard to find a fault in that statement.

What he is doing with the 5%ers is pretty fuckin' impressive and he didnt't have to kiss anyone's ass to get where he is. Very rare, indeed, in this cut throat industry.

Maybe it's me and the era I grew up in. Before the internet came along these same people bashing this guy would be the first ones up his ass praising him. It's so easy to bash someone and I've done it on occasion but seriously if you have a problem with the guy then don't watch his videos. Pretty simple. Dude, its 2015. Hate is a profession now. If you stand out in any way from the norm, there will be someone somewhere in youtube kingdom who was born to attack you.

It isn't that Rich is doing anything to warrant it...other than make people ask why no one looks at them the same.

The PMMA thing is one source of hate. Rich stated he added it to erase or improve a dent or small tear in his one biceps. Others call BS, of course. Don't they always?



Hypocrisy was mentioned somewhere, too. That he'd promote Mutant protein powder in their videos but then decry the worth of powders in his own videos.

It's not an argument as much as a statement. In the Mutant video he's praising 16 protein shakes. In his 5% videos he's pointing out how protein powders are worthless. If anyone's arguing, it's Piana with himself.

And your bald head/shampoo, "nutz"/female birth control comments aren't even similar to "Protein powder is awesome!" vs. "Protein powder is a waste of money!"

Piana did a 180. Having a shaved head and promoting a shampoo is not a 180 and neither is being a man and promoting female birth control... unless you're Tim Tebow suddenly advocating abortion.
