Probiotics and cholesterol
I have read that probiotics/or certain strains of probiotics lower cholesterol levels?
I need to use them for ibs, but concerned they may lower cholesterol levels which in turn can lower my Testosterone which I do not want, do they lower cholesterol to any degree if at all?
Thanks very much

With the new "black box" warning on testosterone products that say that they can increase the risk of heart disease, it would be important to monitor cardiac risk factors. Total holesterol levels are best maintained around the 140. One monitors also HDL cholesterol which is the "good" cholesterol.
There are studies that show that some probiotics will help to lower cholesterol levels but keep in mind that although cholesterol is a building block of testosterone, too much cholesterol is not healthy. Keep your cholesterol in a normal range and stay healthy.

What is the most important for increasing testosterone via cholesterol levels
is it simply the higher the total cholesterol the better?
the higher the hdl?
the higher the ldl?
is low ldl bad for testosterone?
Thanks Joel

Raising cholesterol levels is not healthy. If you want to raise T levels do more heavy lifting using large muscle groups like the quads. Some use the over the counter supplement DHEA to raise testosterone levels naturally.
