On topic Justin Compton, what a transformation!
I'm no fan of Shawn Ray overall, but he did make a statement on MD that seemed reasonable. Basically that contracts expire. No harm and no foul on MD's part or the athlete's part. Welcome to Earth.

I love it how Ron Harris takes shots at me but doesn't have the balls to use my name. I implore him to please do so and while he's at it, Ron should compare his work to mine and take a crash course in when to use first, second or third person writing formats.
He is the most overrated writer in the industry & I have felt this way long before I met him and worked with him. I really don't care how many years he has been doing this; longevity and seniority doesn't give you a free pass to churn out article after article that is written in the improper format.
I broke in as a sportswriter in 2005 and was taught by some of the best scribes in that industry (Marty Noble being one of them). And I have transcended those methods into my bodybuilding material.
Sure, Ron has interviewed a ton of IFBB pros...as I have, as well. I suppose that trumps four Super Bowl winning (and losing) teams in their respective post-game locker rooms in his opinion.
Here's a great head-to-head comparison: Ron took over my "Arnold's Corner" column in MD when Blechman was preparing to fire me. Read mine and then his, identifiable with the by-line.
From the MD thread, Ron's posts:
Justin has a great attitude and I look forward to working with him in the future. The shameful part is that I can guarantee you a few websites and self-proclaimed 'journalists' will churn out articles and video blogs about how Justin was fired, dropped, etc. They have nothing to talk about, so this is what they attempt to pass off as 'breaking news.'
AND
Reason I suspect you rarely hear about who FLEX 'let's go' is because most of these 'breaking news' stories come from former MD employees who will remain bitter toward Steve and MD forever.

Believe Compton confirmed that his contract wasn't renewed.
No mention of MD on his Instagram.
And is this even his Facebook? https://www.facebook.com/pages/IFBB-...61149703949863

Did you read Justin Comptons post on MD about this before you started this thread?
I understand how pissed off some people are about how MD treated them.
Some of them I think may have a really good reason to be pissed offed.
I also get the whole RX vs MD thing.
I remember the history of it.
However it can make people look like an idiot when they start threads like this one that are countered in this case directly by Justin Compton who in his own words has no issue with how he was treated by MD.Last edited by DBowden; 08-01-2015 at 02:18 PM.

In Comptons own words.

Shawn is 100% correct in everything he stated. People misinterpret and twist the meaning when athletes contract expires. Every athletes contract has an expiration date on it and they all will come an end at some point. It doesn't mean there was some conflict of interest on either end. Mr. Blechman didnt' "fire" me and I didn't "quit" just to make things clear to everyone.
Rather than being upset, I am rather thankful to have actually had the opportunity to begin with. Alot of athletes are short term and I was here for 2 years which means alot to me. They gave me a boost in my media and exposure on the regular and I also got two magazine covers from this that I am very thankful of as well. They have helped me build my fan base and also my image to the bodybuilding industry.
Again, I thankful to have had this opportunity and an appreciative of everything that has came my way over the past 2 years and although I am not "signed" with MD it doesn't mean I wont be apart of the community or change my demeanor towards anything at all. Myself and the MD staff still have a good outstanding relationship and I plan to keep that way for many years in the future!

Joe, whats the real reason behind these contracts.
We know 90% of them don't post on the forum like they are supposed to.
So it's just for the ocassional photo shoot or video?
Or is it just to keep them from doing anything with someone elseCutlerAthletics.com
