i have worked with layne for 3 years, trained with him multiple times, worked the olympia with him, and he very rarely brings up his PHD unless someone asks regarding his BCAA studies or also his research, besides that he is very open about anything and everything.

I won't say I know him as well as you, but I've met him at least a half dozen times
Never have I heard him mention his PhD
