Anne Freitas downsizes for IFBB Wings of Strength Texas Pro
I was looking forward to the Wings of Strength show because it included FBB and has an incredibly deep WPD category this year. Zoa, a 5'10" former FBB, downsized to a stage weight around 154 lb. But the surprise of the show for me was Anne Freitas, 6th place at the 2014 Ms Olympia (FBB), has downsized to WPD. She actually looks pretty decent, but its just hard to unload a huge amount of mass, and she has always been STACKED.
2014 Ms Olympia:

At today's WPD Pre-J:

She made 2nd call-outs

Anne made 3rd callouts. I thought interesting to have her standing next to Beni Lopez (in the fuschia on the left, Anne, the blonde in the center), who I still think is the ultimate in proportional muscular physique. I didn't realize Anne was that short, but it gives some interesting perspective to how much she has brought her physique down.

Anne has always had one of the best backsides on the stage. I love her downsized look!

Actually taking a second look she doesn't look all that much smaller.....just less conditioned. A bit smaller but not by much.
I wish they would have left FBB's alone.

This is WPD - but yes she still has so much mature muscle, it would take a lot more to downsize esp her upper body. She also generally doesn't have great flow so it makes her look that much thicker / boxier. I suspect if she had the same mass but was a few inches taller, it would flower better. She actually looks really great off-season.

It really is amazing how just the conditioning makes that much difference. Like I said above, she just looks better when she's softer - she comes up w/ epic conditioning and peeled-ness, but it looks harsh and doesn't flow well in the overall view. Her off-season pictures are "more impressive" in terms of aesthetics IMO. Still freaky but not so harsh.

She does look great in "off-season" condition as most physque competitors do. I prefer this to the overcooked look that resulted from the NPC/IFBB overemphasizing "conditioning" due to fear of size among FBB's. FBB's should be rewarded for a more healthy, fuller condition. The most popular FBB's were American Gladiators in heavier, lush off-season condition. I always enjoyed when WPW would feature FBB's in off-season condition in the videos. When I attended an NPC USA show, a few women in attendance were more atractive than the competitors (again) in "off-season" condition.
I appreciate hard physiques but not to he point of dehydration and dangerously low bodyfat. Maybe FBB's perform some of the crossfit strength events as a part of the overall contest. There definitely should have a physique posing competition among the crossfit instead of the total endurance (mile run) event.

I have always liked Anne's legs. Those were her strongest suits.
