The then-WWF had that steroid lawsuit going on (remember Hulk Hogan wearing a fag bag with jeans and a blazer going into court?) and that made him put the brakes on the juice for the WBF. Basically that's why Ferrigno bailed after being on the WBF Lifestyles magazine cover saying he was gunning for Strydom's title. (Not sure about the high fat diet guy, though.)
That's what I heard. He got sick and had to step away. Would it have succeeded if DeMilia was healthy? Who knows?
Thompson says he resigned and no official word from the federations refuting that. A lot of people have said that he was fired but no one in charge, so take it for what it's worth.
You're one hundred percent right, Curt. Weider was paying these guys shit before the WBF. But I don't think that Thompson's new league will have the same effect. Weider was paying them for the magazine contracts and that has kind of become a thing of the past. Will this make AMI and Blechy shell out more money so these guys don't compete elsewhere? I don't see the connection there. Maybe with AMI since they run the Olympia and want to keep the big names there.

I don't think more money is what the sport really needs for growth? Yes, of course more money is great for the Athletes and they deserve a bigger piece of the industries cake. I believe there needs to be more connection between the federations and not disconnection. It will take something sooo huge for the IFBB to be beaten. So instead of competing, join together in a way.Last edited by BOOMER; 10-23-2015 at 08:57 PM.

I'm friends with Juan and know him since we met in 2012 when I used to ghostwrite his column for FLEX when we both worked together there. So if anything, I would go out of my way to defend him. But this clip is defenseless and while I do believe that he is a genuine guy, this is so blatantly rushed and forced upon him. He keeps looking over to his left where someone was probably standing who grabbed him to do this video and he's stammering with his words and was not prepared to do this whatsoever.
If anyone can find a mushy video like this that was shot before the Thompson split, I'll freely admit that my suspicions may be wrong. But all of these pledges exploded during Olympia Weekend as soon as all of this shit started with NPC Global.

Joe, sure, they were all asked or directed to do the vids. Did you see the Kai Greene one? Watch to the very end after they thought the filming had stopped. RS's demeanor changed entirely.
That doesn't, however, make any of it pathetic, though.
Meh.
I don't see Nspire making much of a dent. Curious about compensation for that specific group of athletes who'll qualify for revenue sharing, but am not that worked up about the news overall.Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Join Rx Muscle on Facebook!
