Jay Cutler gave an interesting interview last week saying the guts in bodybuilding isn't due to drugs or carbs, but protein, that guys are eating way too much meat and the meat backs you up. Jay said he'd diet on 1000g of carbs a day and only 8oz of chicken and it was easier for him to digest, he was also working out twice a day...

Your right on. Protein and Fats is what build muscle.
Hell im eating Bacon and Free Range whole eggs for breakfast, leaning out and gaining muscle.
All those low fat diet are good for steroid users.
Good luck trying to build muscle or lose fat without eating Saturated fat.
I can even say that Saturated fat is more important than Omega 3.
Saturated fat rocks when your on a Keto diet or very low carb, for me i keep carbs under 50G/day(Eating Greens).
In the past i made the mistake too eat too much carbs all it did was made me gain fat.
And to that other poster that say "Calorie is a Calorie" lol You dont know what your talking about.
Macros are way more important and What type of foods you eat.
The foods you eat affect your Metabolism more than you
think:1-Thyroid,Endocrine system,overall health.
Whole eggs, grassfed beef, salmon. I never go back to eating eggwhites, tilapia and chicken.
I really belive Fats are more important than protein, Saturated fats are the top 1 in my book when combine with a low carb diet.Last edited by Alexander; 11-22-2015 at 04:54 AM.

If you want to do a keto diet then no, having those carbs is not okay. All that will do is make the entire diet way harder. You will essentially be "teasing" your brain with carbs once a day 5 days a week, just because you think it will give you some energy. Not worth it at all.

I tried doing full keto about two months ago using only saturated fats for my fats like butter and coconut oil and I got diarrhea 3x a day, it just went right through me. It was more like water/fluid coming out of me, no solids. I woke up one morning severely dehydrated with low blood pressure feeling nauseous and needed to down gatorade to get the sodium back in me. Now I know what it's like to drink the water in mexico.
I switched over to unsaturated fats and the diarrhea went away.
Right now I'm not on a complete keto diet. I only consume around 40g of carbs an hour pre workout and that's it. I'm going to stick to this for a month to see the results. If I don't see results I'll go full keto.

Quote from IFBB Men's Physique Pro Arash Rahbar on carbs and diet...
Arash Rahbar: "This is my last meal before I go to bed. YES I eat carbs before bed. The whole "no carbs at night" is targeted to inactive people, Bc when blood sugar rises and your sitting on your ass doing nothing your more likely to store fat... BUT, if you train hard and have large glycogen stores (carb storage in the muscle) it will go there and be used to replenish glycogen rather than store as fat! I've had 2 guys this week tell me they don't eat carbs after they train Bc they thought low carb was the way to go.... POSTWORKOUT is the most important meal of the day (next to breakfast)! Those carbs won't go to fat store, they will go to the muscle you trained (assuming you actually trained hard)"...
