An article in Musclemag put it this way: We went down to the beach & found girls, then went back to our apartment & hit the sheets, but not to sleep.

I wonder if we had not got the internet or social media, would Gold's still be the same today as it's hey day?

According to Ric Drasin, the golden era of Gold's Gym ended in 1981. I asked him what he meant by that. He said the key individuals who had worked out there for years left the gym, & that was the end of that era.
