Btdt with the "Oh, I will just pick up this cat" mistake. It went from cute kitty to Tasmanian Devil in no time flat. O.o

Particularly because of my one-of-a-kind extra large L-shaped red leather couch, I don't want a Tasmanian Devil. My cats are really good about the couch - the key thing is that it's low enough that my cat w/ the bum hip doesn't have to dig in & pull herself up.
These other 2 foster boys I'm just watching to see how they are, and the key thing is if / how they get along w/ my cats. I'm expecting that confrontation to happen soon here. And then we'll see if I get 2 cats closer to being the crazy cat lady.... But honestly these two are completely loveydovey and not crazy at all.
I was supposed to pick up my other fosters this morning - mom cat + 4 new kittens and pregnant mom - to put in my gym & workshop, but they weren't dropped off at the adoption center. I did learn how to bottle / dropper feed baby kittens though.
Just as a PSA - DON'T pick up kittens & bring them to an adoption place if you see a litter outside somewhere and assume the mom cat is gone. There's a really good chance she's in the process of relocating them and has to do it one kitten at a time.

one of my english teachers in high school did kitty foster care and I got to bottle feed kittens while in class-it was great! and would probably be severely frowned upon in today's schools

God I can imagine - parents sending dirty emails to the teachers saying the kittens aren't non-fat gluten free for the friggen allergic to everything kid.
Also you need to feed them like every 2 hours - 24/7.
I don't recall ever having any critters in any of classes growing up. One of my co-workers in the late 90s got a habitrail + a hamster and kept it in our office. However the hamster was actually preggers w/ 9 baby hamsters. We were able to return the mom & 8 of the babies, but they wouldn't take the one w/ 1 short leg. We kept him and named him Stumpy. Every day at 3 pm, Stumpy would get in the hamster wheel and do sprint cardio for 15 minutes. He was in great shape!
I don't recall what happened to Stumpy. Im' thinking the co-worker brought him home because the cage was starting to get a little too aromatic for our small office.

In retrospect I could see an argument for it being disruptive but even the kids with allergies didn't care b/c they didn't touch them-she fortunately did not have so many at once that every kid had a kitten

OK I suppose it's time to get this TRAINING log back on topic .... So I"m proud to say that today is the first day I've NOT had some sort of shit food in my diet. And w/ my scheduled session tomorrow w/ my trainer, will be the first 2 days of training in a row since my bicep tear.

Still catching up w/ my schedule to get time for cardio. Currently seeing my chiro / massage therapist 3x/ week for a left knee issue (tendonits from an irritated medial miniscus). I"m taking 3 online classes related to "Big Data", and one is a coding class, so it sucks up huge amounts of time. I'm also doing a pile of volunteering w/ the cats and have to give double attention to my cats and my fosters every day. This shit takes time LOL!
And of course tonight I had to catch up on my Walking Dead ... friggen so tied up in homework I completely missed it yesterday.
OMG .. arrow thru the eye. UGH!
Off to play w/ the cats now. Tomorrow morning I"m putting a screen in the door between the bedroom my fosters are staying in and the rest of the house to sort of introduce the two sets of cats w/o going straight into cat fights LOL. Should be interesting ... Baby steps.

And Cats!
This the new mom & her five kittens I'm fostering. These little peanuts are 7 days old yesterday!

And this video is hilarious - they're all feeding but Momcat is a young, small kitty so they don't all necessarily fit when it's time to eat. Watch the two on the right battle it out for a place at the dinner table. Even at 7 days old its survival of the fittest!

LOL Thx ... I need to catch up too! Honestly I've been training w/ coach 2x/week with about a week taken off or my bicep surgery in December.
Quick update - my chiro doesn't like the swelling that continues in my left knee - medial meniscus something or other. I've been seeing him & a massage therapist for the last 3 weeks and he wants me to continue w/ icing, arnica cream to help the swelling, lots of foam rolling on the quad / ham / IT band / periformis to help loosen up. I"m going back to see him next Tues to see if it improves, or I need to go get some soft tissue screening.

More cat shenanigans from yesterday:
My two cats desire nothing more in the world than to play w/ the ratty mouse toy they found. It disintegrates in their mouths when they catch it:

While that's going on, I put a window screen in the doorway to the room where I"m keeping my ginger fosters - they are two orange tabby brothers - I'm guessing 3 years old - with the sweetest dispositions. I'm working on introducing them to my two girls. The screen is a brilliant suggestion by a friend of mine. Here's how far we've gotten with this. HEre's the screen. And so far the two pairs of cats have seen each other and my cats sorta just hissed and went back to the other side of the house.

The orange boys are waiting patiently to make friends. Until then they just chill & eat snacks.

Liking the cat-o-vision! Your poofy black one reminds me of my old roomie's cat: big and poofy slate gray named Zephyr who honest to goodness thought he was a dog.

Titi, the fluffy black one, is an attention whore. But it has to be on her terms. She is such a sweetie tho. The short haired one, Mimi, is a little more stand-off-ish but they are both so cute in their own ways. The best part is that neither of them sheds that much. YAY!

3/31/16 - General update
- Dropping one of my 3 online classes - a new programming language takes too much time right now - putting it off until the next session in mid-April.
- Foster cats - let the two orange tabby brothers wander around my house today - first direct interaction w/ my own cats. Lots of hissing from my cats. The orange cats are starting to get cheeky.
- Foster mom & kittens - all of them are doing very well, very healthy & feisty as all get out. Looks like the babies are starting to open their eyes, and I noticed several of them now know they have a tongue and can lick themselves. Sooo cute.
- My crap knee - still working w/ my chiro before I get to the point of an MRI, but guessing there's some microtearing of the ligament in my left knee. It sucks. Hurts randomly all the time. My right knee is either suffering from sympathy pains or I've got the start of something similar on the right side. So training is still 2 days/ week, playing around w/ cardio, but when the knee hurts, it all just sucks moose balls.
And by the clock on my laptop, it appears it is now officially April Fool's Day!
