Down regulation of cyclic AMP is something you don't hear much about when it comes to fat loss but it certainly plays a large part. Its especially important to consider when weight loss hits hard sticking points. It is correlated with thyroid function and overall lipolysis so of course its influence on fat loss is significant. Cyclic AMP is short for Cyclic Adenosine Monophosphate and it is an enzyme and a derivative of ATP. Outside of fat loss it plays a roll in other biological processes as well.

Keeping cyclic AMP levels in check can be done in a couple simple ways. Fasting may be a way to improve levels. That's not to say that you need to go days without eating but periodic fasts can be beneficial for several reason. Something as simple as not eating upon waking and waiting is helpful. Aiming for periods of 12 hours from night meal to morning meal could improve levels of cAMP. Forskolin supplementation is a potential route of an increase as well. Lastly, doing things to maintain optimal insulin sensitivity will also help. cAMP is typically lower when insulin is elevated.
