A combinations of several factors ?
- Like lots of sleep
- Enough quality (alkaline etc) water.
- Enough clean lean food (macros and micros) (Lean quality protein, quality carbs, very few fats, but quality / essentials fats, quality source of fibers/greens) Everything in appropriate according to your goal proportion.
- Enough stimulus of the muscle (Proper intelligent Training). But not too much so that the body can recuperate fast and grow more. (and you can repeat this proper stimulus after that).
- A good hormonal environment (Testosterone wise, gh wise , low cortisol wise etc. etc. )
I think that's it IMO. Maybe I overlooked some other variables.David Cua also called Donald Pump known for "making bodybuilding great again" !

I know people would like to believe he sat at home and took gear. But he also ate properly and trained twice a day, three on, one off, and did two cardio sessions a day. I'm sure you can find a photo or video of him curling 225 somewhere. Unfortunately for Paul he was in the Dorian and Ronnie eras of big backs and big weights being tossed around ... and he was a guy with a shitty back who grew best with moderate weights, 4-5 sets per exercise and 10-12 rep range (min). He'd also breathed heavy and came off as lazy and grimacing, but the guy had asthma.
He was lazy with his back and it showed. It was lackluster in comparisons. He was obsessed with things he could see and neglected his back and the rear poses, and he couldn't feel them well, couldn't open up his lats or pop the rear double, and couldn't stop shaking. If you ever see Cedric training legs he can't get them to stop shaking even with light weight. People see something like breathing or shaking and the accusations of laziness or poor conditioning start being tossed around.
Anyway here's an excerpt from a 2013 interview Muscle-Insider did with Charles Glass:
MUSCLE INSIDER:
Who was the hardest training bodybuilder that you ever trained, and who had the best work ethic?
CHARLES GLASS:
Chris Cormier. You’ve got to understand. I trained Chris Cormier, Flex Wheeler, and Paul Dillett, all at the same time! They all worked together. I mean, that was war because no one wanted to lose, and they would train till they made each other throw up. That’s how hard they would train. Everyone always put this rap on Paul that he never trained hard. That’s not true! Paul trained REAL hard. He had an asthma problem, so sometimes he would take a
rest and get a little air, but he never quit. That’s what I really liked about the guy. He never quit!Last edited by MusclePoppins; 01-31-2016 at 05:05 AM.

That's great to read Glass' comments on Dillett. Thanks for sharing that. Hadn't read that Muscle Insider interview.

Despite their impressive look , Dilletts shoulders were bad which is the reason he only played with lighter weights. Its probably the reason why he always looked like he was suffering in his videos
