Im no genius but it would seem that you could make more money as a promoter charging 9.99 for a live stream of your show to a worldwide audience than you can by charging 45 for a PJ and 65 for a night show tix to fill up your 400 seat venue! Do it right and more sponsors would get involved because they see an opportunity to reach more consumers.
No one travels for pro shows aside from the Arnolds, O, and maybe NYP. Aside from that your only getting people that are local or families.

I really can't see live streaming taking away from ticket sales. There are always going to be guys to fill the seats. Not having streaming is a huge loss for the promoters. For example, if the promoter would have streamed the 1st event with the new Classic Physique devision he would have made a killing. There are a lot of athletes and coaches who would have easily paid just to see what the new class is about, how it's judged, what the guys look like, conditioning level, etc.
Most promoters know that the seats are predominantly fillled with friends and family. Friends and family will always come so there may not be a benefit or profit to steaming a Mr. Timbucktoo contest but when a new class is introduced now that is where the money is.Last edited by Dan Kennedy; 02-06-2016 at 12:55 AM.

It sounds right ! Why wouldn't they (the promoter) do it if it's in their own financial interest ?
Archaic/old-fashioned thinking, meaning it's new and they don't fully grasp the benefits live stream worldwide would provide yet, or they don't know how to do simple math and they have been told it would not be beneficial for them business wise?David Cua also called Donald Pump known for "making bodybuilding great again" !

Likewise and a lot of other people too.
In the HMR of this week Dave said that DM and Rx could probably broadcast live stream some shows this year. I might not have heard it right I was quite dizzy this morning doing my cardio :/ while listening to the show.
Dave would you confirm or infirm that ?David Cua also called Donald Pump known for "making bodybuilding great again" !
