Wolf's calves
Did he suffer a broken leg or nerve damage? There has to be a reason for his diminished calves, especially the one which is nearly nonexistent. :-(

He had calves years ago.

Lazy. He realized calves didn't make mr. Olympia, so why waste the energy.

Definitely trains calves. 5 plates on the seated raises and lots of effort on the standing raises. Typical stuff. Not sure what the problem is. With some people it's the ankle flexibility or not utilizing the range of motion available in the lower leg and ankle, but obviously to squat the way he does those things aren't an issue. Both him and DJ say that he definitely tries to improve them too

They might "wake up" when he hits 40 haha. Mine woke up last year after training them forever with zero progress except for the spit in the middle.

Nah. The rest of him was smaller and he appears to have grown taller since those were filmed .The longer legs along with increased everywhere else . Thats what it is/was.

Arnold taught us how to make shitty calves good calves, but nobody will do what he did. Train them with heavy weight and high reps(different sets obviously) every single day. That said, I think he has an issue that goes beyond training. THAT said, he absolutely does not train them hard enough, no way.
Wolf had great calves in his MD photos, lol. Too bad Photoshopp cant be used onstage...

The whole Arnold thing is pretty far-fetched. So the story goes that people bug him about his calves, so he leaves the country for the off-season, trains them every day and comes back looking like bricks grew on to the back of his legs. I guess I'm saying I don't really buy it and not many of his peers did either.
As for Wolf, I do think he lost some size on his. He doesn't even really have much of a split when he flexes them either. His tibialis/soleus have always made his lower legs look better from the front, and even those pieces are limited. With that said, Wolf is a tremendous bodybuilder and person. He's been 3rd/4th best on the planet for a while and you can argue he's been even better than that. Arnold should be a good sport and hook him up though.

No, I misunderstood. I thought you meant the before pics were shopped... or ARE those before pics?
The video clearly shows Wolf had calves at one time. I assume the pics are pre-atrophy.
But, yeah, to MusclePoppins. Wolf - with the exception of his calves - has an amazing physique.
Well, his lats could insert a bit lower, but would you kill for that shoulder width and delts? Holy crap!Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Join Rx Muscle on Facebook!

I have an other theory for the calves diminished size. Maybe I'm completely wrong though ^^ .
What if his calves were overtrained by the cardio in the morning on an empty stomach and the fact that when walking on the treadmill or using an other cardio machine he relies a lot on calves. Cause muscles that are trained IMOAES atrophies just because they are "eaten away" or adapt to that aerobic task. It would makes sense to me at least if such was the case.
However I think it's a "worthy sacrifice" cause Liss cardio in the morning on an empty stomach is a formidable tool to get in shape.David Cua also called Donald Pump known for "making bodybuilding great again" !

I'm no guru. I'm certainly not a knowledgeable trainer. And, hey, my physique is a hot mess. But I'm going to call NO WAY on that theory. Just no way. The calf has been seemingly cleaved from his leg on the one leg versus severely diminished/atrophied on the other.
If your theory held water then he'd have had to have been hopping on the one leg for it to atrophy just from the one and not so severely from the other, right?
Again, I don't know jack, so take my comments with a grain of salt (or Isoleucine).
