The conversation started with Kai and co-host Krystal Lavenne talking about racial issues. Here is some of what he said:

"The other night I was stopped by the police, coming home from work, coming home from the gym. If I could tell you the fear ... my hands shook as I tried to keep my hands up ... then find my ID and not want to get shot. Not to say that every police officer is bad because there have been times in my life as a young man where I was saved at the hand of a police officer that should have otherwise done something else, but he didn't."

"There's a moment when the lights are flashing behind YOU and you don't look like what you're being stopped by, and in that moment to them you look like the face of criminality that is on all the negative rap albums and so on. And there's no leniency or distinction that will separate you from that ... but what we see right here and now and in this moment. So to be an African-American man, almost 300 pounds, with an 8-inch scare running down the right side of my face ... with a hoodie on ... as much as I may have, at other times in my life, in the course of my day feel removed from Oh well I'm an athlete, I'm a bodybuilder, I'm a personality ... WHOA! Real talk! I witnessed my hands shaking as the police officers were really not very nice with handling me. Not very nice at all, and it was frightening."

*In the episode Kai also gave a shout out to cops, and both he and Ms. Lavenne spoke encouragingly about unity and how celebrating your own culture shouldn't cause division with another.

*Regarding posing, Kai spoke positively about the new Arnold scoring system. He thinks that it could eventually reflect in the gym as well. Instead of focusing and just getting bigger, bigger, bigger and harder, harder, harder young bodybuilders might be encouraged to pose more away from the stage and, in turn, believes it could benefit their approach to training. He said the fundamentals of being a good athlete have gotten lost.
Really sucks he went through that bullshit.

In this case they obviously had nothing to go on apart from his appearance. So the word "profiling" as the thread title is applicable. It doesn't represent violence, it represents appearance. And if they were looking for someone that met Kai's description then that is also based on a profile in the definition of the word. Taken out of context in your country the word means abuse and violence I guess. I hope that changes.
That liberal you have up in Canada now is worse than the piece of shit we're finally getting rid of. When your country is overrun by savagery, your tune will change.

I'm not even sure what you're talking about now to be honest. Health care?

    The Prime Minister?

My tune? Because I used the word "profiled" ?

Yep, the new prime minister. I'm just using what was at hand (your posts here) and surmising. Perhaps I'm wrong.

I corrected (I think) your context comment.

You said, "Taken out of context in your country the word means abuse and violence I guess." But I think abuse and violence is IN CONTEXT in the U.S. at least so far as the media focus/narrative is concerned.

I said (ducks, runs, hides) because no one likes a grammar nazi.

Otoh, I might have it all wrong like I did when I asked which episode.

    O.o

Obviously we feel differently about the word, which I can't change.

I don't foresee any issues with Canada's leadership. Justin Trudeau is a liberal in a slightly left of center country, and that's what liberals are here, so changes are always subtle. Also he hasn't even been on the job five months, so I'm not sure what informs your opinion that he is worse than someone else who you think is a piece of shit.

I can't stop white Americans from believing it's okay that Kai Greene had his hands up and was scared of being shot. In places where police/citizen relations are healthy that is not how someone feels while being identified.

You're right. Context can be informed by a set of circumstances. So to Joe, for example, I might be using the "profiled" out of context because it's not attached to violence by definition or because of where I'm from, and to me his understanding of the word is out of context because the media attaches it to violence where he's from.

Regardless of what the word means to difference people from different regions no one, no place should be scared of a police officer and poorly treated by a police officer on their way home from the gym. That is the point.

I obviously was referring to obama, who has been the most divisive president in US history with race, police and partisan issues. He has been even worse internationally than he has stateside.

Your new guy is flying refugees in by the thousands and there has already been terrorist acts up there. This new batch of ISIS undercover is going to make anyone who voted for that lib regret it.

Oh gee, Kai playing the victim..... this is new!

This is the dumbest thread in RX history. What is this about? Kai got pulled over, claimed to feel scared(BULLSHIT), thought he was "treated poorly"... yet gave the cops praise.... and .... nope.. that's it. lol Where is the story?

Kai THOUGHT he was profiled?? NO SHIT!! Nobody asked you to be 5'8" 300 shredded, wearing a hood 24/7, Kai. NEWS FLASH!!!! Being 300 pounds of shredded muscle... will make people profile you whether you are white, black, green or yellow! You look huge and intimidating, and you have the ability to tear the skinny fat cops into little pieces if you want. They have to be on the offensive simply for their safety.

Cops are not meant to make you feel good about yourself and tell you they love you, for fucks sake, they are there to enforce the law. Period. Nobody forced you to look like a monster from the black lagoon, shut the fuck up you whiny, bitch of a man. Jesus.

Any person who believes that Kai was truly frightening or thought he might get shot..... is living in fairy tale land.

The only way this could be true is if Kai has some kind of seriously powerful phobia of cops. It is simply illogical, and for anyone to argue different is ridiculous. The cops are just going to up and shoot a millionaire sports star because hes BLACK????(the same race as our president coincidentally) Is that a serious concern? What is wrong with people.

I don't know, Geoff. I'm a skinny white guy and would prefer not to be pulled over by the cops.

Shit happens and bullets go through 6'1" and 190 just as easily as 5'8" and 300.
