Sleep Deprivation Leads to Insulin Resistance.
Here is a study showing that only ONE night of sleep deprivation can begin to induce insulin resistance. Though its not the most impressive study ever, the results are something I have seen first hand.
Ive seen this occur in those that I have test fasting BG levels on a regular of somewhat regular basis. In cases of lack of sleep, fasting levels were almost always higher.
In an ideal world, every night would be perfect sleep wise in both length and quality. While I do feel it should be a major priority to make this happen daily, it might not each and everyday. However, it should be high on the to do list.
An interesting piece to the nutrient partitioning puzzle that everyone should consider.

Many nights of sleep deprivation have resulted in high blood sugars the following day(s)
