Quest Nutrition Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Protein Bar Review

    Taste

    Oatmeal Chocolate Chip-

This was a decent tasting bar. This was a combination of the cookie dough quest bar with cinnamon and oatmeal pieces infused together. The cinnamon will trump the oatmeal in flavor, but nothing beats the amount of chocolate chips. Similar to the other bars you have had on the quest line they do not shortchange you on mix-ins. Some of the chocolate chip bars have full chunks scattered throughout the 60g bar. This is more of a cinnamon chocolate chip bar. While this is a good flavor, blueberry muffin is still the favorite.

    Texture

Out of the wrapper you can notice the bar has the usual quest bar texture with the added flakiness from the oatmeal into this bar. The cookie dough texture is similar to the CCCD Bar, and of course the added chocolate chips. The amount of flavor from the oatmeal is not enough to stick to the name on the label. Cinnamon Chocolate Chip Oatmeal would be more ideal.

    Formula

    8g Fat
    22g Carbs
    20g Protein
    15g Fiber

This is a lower Quest Nutrition fiber bar off their line, but that does not take away from a very caloric friendly bar and something that is very tasty for the amount of calories you are getting. Quest protein bars contain a quality protein blend of MPI and WPI (Milk Protein Isolate and Whey Protein Isolate). They also include Corn Fiber and additional oatmeal. The almonds, cinnamon, and cocoa butter included help enhance the oatmeal and cinnamon aspect. The cookie dough base and chocolate chips are supreme

    Cost

Quest retails for about 24$ making it right around 2$ a bar. If you were to buy a single bar off the main quest website it would be around 2.39$ per bar. Buying in bulk saves you around 40 cents a bar, but all in all if on sale its pretty cost effective for 12 bars for around 20$. When you factor in flavor, and factor in good calories for less than 200 calories a bar it's a pretty nice convenient investment.

Quest Nutrition Rocky Road Protein Bar Review

    Taste

    Rocky Road

Rocky Road is a combination of chocolate and marshmallow. This bar is basically a S’mores without the graham cracker. Quest S’mores was a decent bar, but not one of their elite flavors. The chocolate base is great, as I love the Double Chocolate Chunk and Chocolate Brownie flavor on the line. The marshmallows were on the hard side, and had an artificial aftertaste, which took away some points. Microwave these bad boys for 10-15 seconds and those would melt in your mouth. The slivered almonds add a nice crunch, but enough flavor to make this a top tier flavor.

    Texture

Out of the wrapper you can notice the bar has the usual quest bar texture with the added flakiness from the marshmallows into this bar. The chocolate brownie or double chocolate chunk dough texture is present. The amount of flavor from the marshmallow is present, but does not top double chocolate chunk..

    Formula

    10g Fat
    20g Carbs
    20g Protein
    13g Fiber

This is a low amount of fiber for a Quest Nutrition bar, but that does not take away from a very caloric friendly bar and something that is very tasty for the amount of calories you are getting. Quest protein bars contain a quality protein blend of MPI and WPI (Milk Protein Isolate and Whey Protein Isolate). They also include Corn Fiber and additional marshmallows. The almonds, cocoa, and cocoa butter included help enhance the Chocolate and marshmallow inclusion. The base was similar to a double chocolate chunk bar

    Of the 3 new bars:
    1) Blueberry Muffin
    2) Rocky Road
    3) Oatmeal Chocolate Chip

Quest Nutrition Blueberry Muffin Protein Bar Review

    Taste

    Blueberry Muffin -

Quest nutrition continues to find a way to make better tasting bars. The Blueberry muffin almost tasted identical to frosted blueberry pop tart. The inclusion of full size dried blueberries, and cookie pieces from the S’mores bar just makes this epic. Graham cracker and blueberry combination is fantastic. Not to mention the reformulation of the quest bars to the softer consistency makes this a top-notch quest flavor. This could easily be in anyone’s top 3-5 flavors of all time from quest nutrition.

    Texture

Out of the wrapper you can notice the bar has the usual quest bar texture with the added flakiness from the graham cracker crumbs included inside and outside of the bar. There are also very big signs of visible blueberries pieces throughout the bar that do not take away from a normal quest bar texture.

    Formula

    7g Fat
    22g Carbs
    21g Protein
    14g Fiber

This is a lower Quest Nutrition fiber bar off their line, but that does not take away from a very caloric friendly bar and something that is very tasty for the amount of calories you are getting. Quest protein bars contain a quality protein blend of MPI and WPI (Milk Protein Isolate and Whey Protein Isolate). They also include Corn Fiber and additional blueberries. All protein bars look like bars. Thats why they look the same.
Clearly the colors and mix-ins are night and day different with Chocolate Chips, Marshmallows, and blueberries + Graham Crackers.

    New Cereal Bars:

    Quest Waffle Protein Crunch Review

    Taste

Waffle – “If we could, we’d have waffles for dinner. And lunch. And sure, breakfast, why not! That’s why we baked the sweet taste of maple syrup and the buttery flavor of fresh waffles into every bite of this crunchy new “uncereal” bar!

Nothing says breakfast like waffles. Being a fat kid at heart we love the doughy texture of the waffle, and the copious amounts of butter and sugar from syrup all over them. The taste of this one was interesting. It has a very minor syrup aftertaste with a enhanced cinnamon bar flavor. Quest was on the right path with this one, but it is hard pressed to find something that can nail a waffle and syrup flavor. If they beefed up the amount of calories, fats, and carbs in these I bet they could enhance the quality of the flavor. Its good, but its not as good as Cinnamon or PB & Chocolate.

Strawberry Protein Crunch – “Strawberry Fields Forever. No… seriously! Now that we’ve mixed the fun fruity flavor of strawberries into our innovative “uncereal” bar

I was not a big fan of the strawberry protein powder, so I had low hopes going into this bar. Personally I thought It was decent, but not as good as PB & Chocolate or Cinnamon. It has a decent strawberry flavor with a touch of artificial flavoring in the aftertaste. For those who are strawberry lovers this may be one to try out or by a single. I will be passing on these in the future.

Peanut Butter & Chocolate Protein Crunch - “Ever had a peanut butter dipped marshmallow square? Drizzled with CHOCOLATE?! How about one without the sugar coma?

Every fat kid at heart loves peanut butter and chocolate. Quest did a great job on their protein powder, and I really enjoy the chocolate brownie & DCC Bars. This cereal bar was their best if you ask me. Quest made a great combination of peanut butter and chocolate, which one does not overpower, the other. The description of a peanut butter dipped marshmallow square is a bit misleading. The amount of marshmallow taste is minimal. Overall good bar here, not top notch flavor like a regular bar, but for 100 calories this is a nice treat.

Cinnamon Protein Crunch: “You know the way your kitchen smells five minutes before the cinnamon rolls are done baking? We’ve captured that essence of sweet cinnamon goodness in every bite of this CRUNCHY new “uncereal” bar!”

I was not a huge fan of the cinnamon roll or S’mores bar off the Quest line, but this one was pretty decent. Again you are getting a 100 calorie bar, the flavoring wont be top of the line. The Cinnamon was pretty strong and rivaled the quest protein bars it was included in. This was also more dominant than the new Oatmeal Chocolate Chip. With the image on the front looking like a cinnamon roll it lacked the icing and doughy flavor you get in a true cinnamon roll. Easily the best cereal bar they offer.

Chocolate Protein Crunch - “Chocolate, Protein, Crunch… Repeat! You’ll never miss the crisp with this new cocoa flavored “uncereal" bar. Plus it’s packing 12g of protein you won't find anywhere else on the cereal aisle.

This Cereal protein bar is a bit different from regular quest bars. The chocolate base is similar to chocolate brownie and double chocolate chunk bars. The only different is the quality of the chocolate is not as strong. There are small little white patches throughout the bar to resemble milk or icing which is lackluster in flavor. It's a novel concept, but the flavoring needs to be enhanced. For a 100 calorie bar its not bad for an on the go high protein snack.

    Texture

The Cereal bars are denser in texture than the regular quest bars. They are not as soft, but are a good consistency that will not fold or bend like some protein bars on the market. They also are great if you microwave them for 10-15 seconds to soften them. The consistency is similar to a crushed up rice krispy treat.

    Formula

    4g Fat
    18g Carbs
    12g Protein
    6g Fiber

The cereal bars are lower in calories and fiber per serving. While these are 100-calorie bars compared to the 180-calorie regular quest bars the taste does suffer. The texture is firmer than a normal quest protein bar, but for the calories it is an enticing addition to the quest line.

    Cost

Quest retails for about 15$ for a box of 6. If you were to buy a single bar off the main quest website it would be around 2.59$ per bar. Buying in bulk saves you around 60 cents. Since these are a new release I am unsure what you may see them retail at when on sale. When you factor in the amount of calories in these bars it is a good invention, and a great marketing tactic for “Uncereal Bars”.

I had to abandon quest bars after they changed their fiber. Bars got a little hard and chewy but I might give a try again for these new flavors.

They went back to the original formula. They are excellent.
Grab blueberry muffin, by far the best flavor.
