I'd like to introduce a new interview series, the Rx Muscle Forums on Facebook Spotlight by showcasing Marco Luis aka MONSTRO!

Q: What do you enjoy most about Rx Muscle and the Rx Muscle Facebook group?

A: I learn a lot from Rx Muscle but mostly from “Ask Dave”. I learn a lot with Dave Palumbo, and for me he and Aceto are the best bodybuilding coaches.

Q: How were you introduced to the weights?

A: I had lots of health problems as a little boy that limited me in several ways. I was the "little one" of my classroom and always had ambition to be big. Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger had bodies that I looked up to and wished to have one day.

My first fitness adventure started at a judo club, but I wasn't fond of the sport. Then a friend introduced me to the gym and I fell in love with the sport of bodybuilding. I had no knowledge about training or nutrition and didn't have Internet at the time, so I went to the nearest bookstore and bought bodybuilding magazines. I also asked a friend to buy any magazine he could find on his American military base.

I read them constantly, studied every sentence, and got hooked on muscle and knowledge. Bodybuilding turned me into the man I am today. I have much more self-respect. I love the feeling of achievement after every training session and love seeing changes to my body.

The ability to set a goal and work toward achieving it is a great feeling. I love challenging myself every day and setting a new goal. Researching training and nutrition is one of my hobbies. I don't compare myself to anyone; I compete against myself and beat my personal best every time.

I have never been organized or disciplined and couldn't commit to anything. Since I started bodybuilding and living and eating healthy, my whole character changed. Preparation taught me about organization. If I start something, I see it through despite what people think. It's my journey, and the end says more about a person than the beginning.

I was fascinated when I saw Arnold Schwarzenegger in movies. When I entered the bodybuilding world, guys like Ronnie Coleman and Flex Wheeler motivated me to fight for what I wanted.

I also get motivation from my wife who is my biggest supporter. We live the same lifestyle and realize how much it improves our relationship and quality of life to have goals and feel better about ourselves.

Q: What is your favorite part of the iron game – strongman, bodybuilding, Men’s Physique, Bikini, etc.?

A: Bodybuilding for sure.

Q: What's your favorite thing about bodybuilding?

A: I love all in bodybuilding and I live bodybuilding 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All I do in my life is about bodybuilding. I love this, and for me is a dream be in expos, competitions and new gyms training.

Q: What's your least favorite thing about bodybuilding?

A: Maybe cardio and contest diet but I do easy because we have to focus to reach our goals.

Q: What is your goal so far as the weights go?

A: At first be the best Marco Luis possible, doing all I can to improve and reach perfection, and with that help others reach their goals and dreams. I’m a motivator.

Q: Do you have any favorite bodybuilders or strength athletes?

A: Flex Wheeler (my boss) in Mex Nutrition and Ronnie Coleman. Today, Kai Greene.

Q: Did you emulate anyone when you first became involved in the iron game?

A: In the beginning, trying to be like Arnold.

Q: Who is someone you look forward to meeting and perhaps picking their brain?

A: I have another dream is meeting Dave Palumbo and Chris Aceto personally and talking with them.

Q: What has been the most effective workout you’ve followed?

A: Off Season 5x5 with basics, and Pre Contest the basics but with drop sets, rest pauses, and forced reps.

Q: What supplement company or brand does it right?

Q: What are three things you couldn't live without?

A: Mariza Luis (wife), Bodybuilding live, Peugeot RCZ!

Q: What is your macro or food breakdown? Do you count calories, do calculations, and weigh your food?

A: Pre Contest Keto from Dave Palumbo, Off Season I use carbs at breakfast and after training. I count everything (my wife does all for me).

Q: Other than hitting the iron, what do you enjoy doing the most with your free time?

A: None, my free time is to learn more about bodybuilding, always reading and searching to learn more. Knowledge is Power!

Q: What about hobbies?

A: I use all my time training, eating, preparing food, coaching people, and learn more to improve and help others with my videos.

Q: What motivates you?

A: Reach all my dreams, I’m a dream catcher and I will do all to reach them all. Next will be cover of fitness magazine, train with some of the pros bodybuilders, and meet Dave Palumbo and Chris Aceto personally.
