This should give the industry a lift. As for Kevin hopefully he can earn some some money. I cannot seem him improving on his early 2000's physique so think he is in danger of being seriously out muscled. Bodybuilding does not stand still and he has not competed in 13 years. Has there been a successful comeback in the history of bodybuilding? Arnold was only gone 5 years and most people said he should have come 6th in 1980.

Dave nailed it. Levrone is a hyper responder and has that sentimentality card in his pocket. I called it legend status. It helped Arnold in 1980 and Franco in 1981 and I would be surprised if Levrone's legendary bbing history doesn't help him in Vegas.

Arnold - from the stories I read - encouraged Zane to compete even though he was suffering from a serious injury after an accident. Then Arnold arrives as competition! Big deception or betrayal in Zane's eyes, so it's not surprising he'd have him in sixth place.
Iirc, John Hansen has Arnold as a justified or a worthy winner in 80. He's not alone.Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Join Rx Muscle on Facebook!

I found the stuff dave was saying on HMR the other night about leverone to be comical

I liked the exclusive comments today that Dave made. Romano got carried away with Donald Trump on HMR when the entire show should have been about Levrone from the START. No plane rides, no Triple H, no Donald Trump. Just Levrone. The news was too huge just to shoot the shit about it for a few minutes as a third topic.
As for 1980, Boyer Coe should have won with his rear poses alone. He had the most complete, detailed back and was the ONLY f*ck*n guy with hamstrings from the side and rear. Giving him 4th place was a f*ck*n crime. A mob should have descended on the judging table with ferocious wrath.

Chris Dickerson was presented with the 1980 Mr Olympia 1st place trophy weeks after the event by the Australian bodybuilding federation according to his interview with John Hansen. They did it because in their opinion he had won and not Arnold. CBS never showed the contest footage as they thought what happened was a crock of shit.
Then Dickerson gets beat in 1981 by post car accident Franco who landed on stage with one and a half legs. At least Chris won in 82...........talk about paying your dues.

Arnold was given a gift by promoter Paul Graham in 1980 because he (Graham) pressed Arnold to compete to make the show a memorable one. Arnold owed Graham for him taking the rap on the auto theft ring & Arnold went from CBS TV commentator to competitor for that reason.

I hope Kevin goes through with it. It adds a very interesting subplot to the Olympia.
What could a possible top 10 finish by Kevin mean? Solidifying an all-time great, or watered-down competition? I guess only time will tell.

Just wondering... but how is Kevin even qualified?
