When did this thread become a Dex vs. Sergio discussion ?
While I personally think Dex is better than Sergio, that does not take anything away from him.
Sergio Oliva is a legend, and easily a top 10 all-time great.Last edited by Shizzo; 05-22-2016 at 11:28 AM.

When you said this "None of the gentlemen I put in red, measure up to Dexter Jackson's illustrious bodybuilding career."
Gees shinto, Your first post ' I would ask anyone to name 10 bodybuilders that have a more impressive resume. '
People respond and you say shit like this makes the marbles in my head rattle.

I know people are going to have favorites, but in my opinion, you should have to have an Olympia title to qualify to be in the top 10 of all time.
Special consideration can be given to the older bodybuilders who have won the MR. Universe (before the Olympia)
Guys like Levrone, Wheeler, Ray etc... where great, but I cant justify them making the top 10 without winning an Olympia.

I use the logic of Shizzo in that you need an Olympia to be considered. In other words, you need to have won an Olympia to qualify for the "Greatest Of All-Time Show." And from there I keep it nice and simple. I put the best versions of all 13 Mr. Olympia's up on an imaginary stage and judge them according to the current IFBB judging criteria.
1. Ronnie Coleman 1999
2. Dorian Yates 1993
3. Jay Cutler 2001
4. Phil Heath 2011
5. Dexter Jackson 2008
6. Lee Haney 1987
7. Samir Bannout 1983
8. Arnold Schwarzenegger 1974
9. Serio Oliva 1972
10. Frank Zane 1979
DNP - Chris Dickerson 1982
DNP - Franco Columbo 1976
DNP - Larry Scott 1966

I think you have to take in consideration the evolution of the Sport.Example:Jessie Owens is one of the all time great sprinters but his best time in the 100 would be getting beat by even some white guys today.Usain Bolt would beat him by 8-10 yards. That being said I think Owens is still considered the best or at least one of the best ever.Relating this to bodybuilding guys like Arnold probably couldn't win a national amateur title today with his 1975 build.Taking in to consideration these things I.E. the evolution of the Sport I personally would have Sergio number 1Arnold 2 then Ronnie then Yates. Not sure Dex would be in my top 10 but he's very good.Might put him in the lower half.Would have to think about it more.

He's not , must take the generation and the standards used to judge competitors into account for their particular era . Also the financial aspect of the sport did not make long term careers a regular thing .
1. Ronnie Coleman
2. Lee Haney
3. Arnold
4. Flex Wheeler
5. Dorian Yates
6. Jay Cutler
7. Sergio
8. Kevin Levrone
9. Steve Reeves
10. Larry Scott
This list clearly combines impact as well as physique , clearly all of these competitors had a greater impact on the sport than Dexter who does not rank highly in that department.

I dont agree at all. Guys like Levrone and Wheeler do not carry the career resume of a Dexter Jackson (not to mention a Sandow either).
Dexter is still winning contests 20+ years into his career, and nearly won the Olympia in 2015. How is that not impact? Its unheard of.

I can remember that Dexter told in an interview that his goal was to be the most consistent bodybuilder of all time. In my eyes he has achieved his personal goal.
