I had a recent question about napping and how one should go about incorporating them in terms of length.




Some of this depends on the persons schedule and their needs. For some a short 5-15 min nap is extremely beneficial and for others a longer 30+ min is better. Here is a pretty cool study showing the difference in effects between shorter and longer naps.




Personally, my schedule doesnt really allow longer naps but a short 5-10 min rest carries me well for a couple hours. The extra 5-10 mins adds to total productivity of the day quite a bit. This study seems to agree with this finding as well.
