My computer may be malfunctioning as I see bigdude66 quoted but not his original comments (or anything about squatting on a ball).

Well, that's about the best explanation I can imagine for this seemingly douchey move. Woe to the gym owners who have to replace plates and repair floors if this jerky exercise gets more popular.

I was at the Burleson athletic club where I trained a few years ago and this kid was doing incline db presses. He was only using 40s but at the end of every set with his arms completely extended overhead he would drop the dumbells and they would crash to the floor bouncing all over the damn place. The owner came over and told him never do that again or else and the kid just started sulking mumbling something about Ronnie Coleman dropping dumbells.

Yeah, that's a popular one. I have to figure that about 20% do this from muscular exhaustion with the other 80% just wanting to be hardcore and yell "Yeah buddayy!". I'm sure he was watching himself make agony faces in the mirror (another hardcore wannabe affliction) pushing those 40's. I have to start carrying an allen key to my gym as the number of dopes have been on the rise.

Mmmmmk...so I stumbled across this today and thought I'd share it with you peeps: Erin Stern performing Pendlay rows (not the way I was taught). Looks like a version of what Puma is talking about.

Have to say that's in the neighborhood. Guy at my gym seemed more aggressive with it but it was 225 lbs on the bar after all. Not how I do the Pendlay rows either though. Maybe she's here on the boards and decided to give this wacky exercise a try, lol.
