    Default fitnurse_onthego Training Journal

Hey, Everyone! I am excited to be a part of this forum and look forward to learning and making change happen. A little about me: I am 42 years old, a mom of 3 (ages 24, 16, 14), and work night shift as a registered nurse. I've wanted to do a competition for years but always found a reason to get in my own way. This year I hired a coach and started training. However, my boyfriend proposed and next thing you know I am caught up in the whirlwind of wedding planning! The wedding is in just over a week! I became extremely stressed and my coach and I decided to slow down the training until after the wedding. Well, this was my excuse to stop counting macros and get out of going to the gym. Needless to say, I've taken backward steps. Right now, I want to use the next 10 days to shed a little bit of fat I've added and get my mindset ready for what's to come.

Any tips that will help me with fat loss would be greatly appreciated. Today I will be doing HIIT along with some circuit training with free weights. I'll post the exact workout later.

Welcome to RX and congrats on the wedding! I'll echo everything cook said and add that you need to just put all the excuses on ignore and get 'er done. Don't beat yourself up about just taking babysteps, remember that every baby step you take in the right direction is still improvement over doing nothing and complaining/making excuses about it. You have 3 kids (I do too) so yeah, life can get in the way. Keep in the front of your mind that making a lifestyle improvement will only make you a better mom (and wife). Whatever you choose to do for diet and exercise, remember consistency is KEY! We're all here to support you.

    Now get after it!!

Thank you so much! I managed to get through the wedding weekend without too much damage. Got my new program from my coach this morning so training has officially begun! No excuses!
