The Familiar Names Not Qualified or Not Competing:
Essa Obaid finished 10th at the Olympia last year and only competed once this year at the California State, finishing 3rd behind Kuclo and De Asha, and ahead of Rivera and Lockett.
Branch Warren tied Lionel Beyeke with 8 points. Fred Smalls eliminated them with his 2nd place last weekend at the Arnold Asia. Branch finished 6th at the last two Olympias and has only missed the top 10 once (12th in 2006) since his 8th place debut in 2005, not including shows missed due to injury. Beyeke has a pair of 10th place finishes at the Olympia in 2012 & 2013.
At 45, Johnnie Jackson won't be at the Olympia for the first time since 2009. It's only the second time he'll miss an Olympia since he started competing consistently as a pro in 2003. He turned pro in 2001 winning the light-heavy and overall at Nationals and the light-heavy at USA's. His wins include Montreal 2006, Atlantic City 2007, and Fibo Germany 2012.
Juan Morel finished 11th at last year's Olympia, 10th the year before, and has 3 professional wins. Evan Centopani has 4 professional wins and a top 10 at the Olympia, 8th in 2012.

Nothing needs to be said for the absences of Kai Greene and Dennis Wolf. It will be the most competitive show in several years, but would have defined this generation of bodybuilders if they were part of the field. With that said, there are 3 spots open in the top 6 with Kai, Wolf and Branch out of the show.

If Cedric looks like he did in Ohio against Kai then he should be in the final 5 or 6 man callout. I think any one of Ramy, Phil, Dex, Rhoden and Cedric can win the Olympia if everything roles their way. If Phil is off again on Friday night I can't see them re-gifting him 1st place in prejudging. It will be wide open.
