I'm going to put it out there. Lenda is a jealous bitch. I saw it right from when Iris surpassed her record. She then jumped on the bandwagon about FBB's getting too masculine. Look in a mirror Lenda.....you're no prize yourself.

Iris does not have a beautiful face. She never did even before bodybuilding. And THAT is what bothers people. Alina Popa has a feminine face for female bodybuilding. Hence people say "Oh look at her she still remains feminine while bodybuilding omg!!!!!" Fucking idiots. Iris and Alina are pretty close in muscle mass. Yet one is SOOOOO much better.

Idiots all the way around. Let female bodybuilders be bodybuilders.

Iris has always handled herself with the utmost class and has never been involved in stupid petty drama. And they go and do this to her.

After seeing the show w/ Lenda as the MC, I wonder how that would've gone over w/ Iris competing? I don't know how often they cross paths or in what situations, but I can imagine you could cut the tension w/ a knife on that stage.

I would have REALLY liked to Iris standing next to Margie tho. Both phenomenal physiques & competitors. Huge charisma on stage.

The entire situation is a bit confusing, as it appeared that the Wings of Strength people were the only ones left giving female bodybuilding any play. With the WPD already established, why would they want the FBBers to come in smaller and less peeled? The attraction for the people who still admire FBBing (which one would have to assume the WOS people do) is to see the distinction between them and every other type of female physique. Why tame it down?

FBBing will never reach the heights that it was at back in the 1980s and having WPD basically replace it confirms that. So leave it the way it was and have something unique at your shows that the others have chosen not to.

It seems obvious this wasn't about returning FBB to the heights that it was back in the 80s but rather about excluding Iris.

Oddly enough, the video gets edited with an awkward transition right after Lenda talks about iris Kyle negatively. I can't imagine a journalist with Peter's credentials not following up on that, which is a 'gold nugget' to an interviewer.

Maybe she made that comment again about how a female bb should not be comparable to Dexter and they edited it out, lol. McGough does have credentials but I find him hard to watch. The attempts at clever analogies are bad enough in the articles but "We go further back than a limbo dancer"... yeesh! He really cracked himself up after the statement of supposedly tricking Lenda into a come back (odd silent laugh). Overall, better suited towards print (then again, I prefer Rick Wayne).

Again, I prefer Rick Wayne and a number of other past writers. McGough is a bit to heavy on the loopy analogies and inserts himself in over half his stories. Wayne did battle with legends on stage and yet did not feel the need to shift the focus onto his personal involvement when writing. I of course respect your position as a journalist, Joe. Just different tastes.

Most definitely, this. And those who blame Iris for the current "look" and state of FBB should look at Kim in the video clip below in 1999 at that years Ms. Olympia (which ALSO was almost cancelled because of losing a major sponsor in addition to super-low ticket sales), or again in 1998 at the Ms. Olympia in Prague when Iris wasn't even IN the Ms. Olympia yet. FBB was in dire straights LONG before Iris came on the pro scene, so it doesn't make sense to blame Iris when Iris' "look" was not only being modeled but also being awarded Olympia titles pre-Iris.
