If they had gotten the sanction for Ms. Olympia as they originally inquired about, there would be no discussion here and Iris would be in the show. Not having the best FBB enter this show definitely hurts any credibility they were trying to establish for this as the top FBB title.

In actuality the Ms. Olympia trophy was modeled after Sandow's daughter Helen Muller who was trained by him and who would perform in his act under the name Helena Sandow. She's generally regarded as one of the founders for women's physical culture.

His point about the Ms. International is right on, though. The Ms. International, the 2nd biggest show in FBB, was an INVITE ONLY show. You had to submit a letter requesting that you be allowed to compete, and only after they sent the invite you were PERMITTED to compete at that show: pro status alone wasn't enough, and neither was Ms. O status. So that means that Iris was INVITED to compete 12 times at that show. His point being, why is the whole invitation part of THIS show now a problem when that same situation WASN'T a problem before with one of the biggest shows in the sport??

In all honestly this whole situation makes me very sad. As a long-time fan of FBB going back over 30 years, it genuinely hurts to see two of the GREATEST of all time........not just the greatest FEMALE bodybuilders, mind you, but truly two of the greatest bodybuilders that ever lived, PERIOD.......going after each other like this. I thought this whole feud between Lenda and Iris was dead and buried years ago, but clearly I was wrong. With all the problems that FBB is having, the last thing it needs is an ongoing feud like this. Hopefully a solution can be found that is amicable to all parties involved. Otherwise it's a sad day for FBB all around, especially when it is on the eve of the world championship of the sport that all us fans look forward to.

Also, something else to consider. This weekend at the RF, WOS is having a townhall meeting at a conference for female bodybuilders involving the future direction of the sport. I'm wondering if that also might have something to do with why Iris isn't going to be there, but that's just speculation on my part: only time will tell as to what the results of this conference will be.

No matter how you cut it, Iris Kyle should not have to reach out to anyone.

Olympia champion > promoter

Plain and simple, no two ways about it. Without the competitors there is no show. Yes, it's a collaboration or a symbiotic relationship, but the caliber of the athletes is the primary concern or driver for a show's success or audience satisfaction.

Regarding the feud, well, welcome to Earth. People will always argue. And given the competitive nature of athletes and the fact that Iris and Lenda were/are the pinnacle of female bodybuilders is it any wonder they'd be at least slightly at odds?

As long as some people want to decide what female bodybuilders should look like then this type of crap will continue to happen.

With men there are no limits on how big a bodybuilder should be. With FBB people who promote shows and run organizations want to see bodies with cross over appeal.

They are going to need another show for bodybuilders like Iris.

The entire situation is a bit confusing, as it appeared that the Wings of Strength people were the only ones left giving female bodybuilding any play. With the WPD already established, why would they want the FBBers to come in smaller and less peeled? The attraction for the people who still admire FBBing (which one would have to assume the WOS people do) is to see the distinction between them and every other type of female physique. Why tame it down?

FBBing will never reach the heights that it was at back in the 1980s and having WPD basically replace it confirms that. So leave it the way it was and have something unique at your shows that the others have chosen not to.

I'm going to put it out there. Lenda is a jealous bitch. I saw it right from when Iris surpassed her record. She then jumped on the bandwagon about FBB's getting too masculine. Look in a mirror Lenda.....you're no prize yourself.

Iris does not have a beautiful face. She never did even before bodybuilding. And THAT is what bothers people. Alina Popa has a feminine face for female bodybuilding. Hence people say "Oh look at her she still remains feminine while bodybuilding omg!!!!!" Fucking idiots. Iris and Alina are pretty close in muscle mass. Yet one is SOOOOO much better.

Idiots all the way around. Let female bodybuilders be bodybuilders.

Iris has always handled herself with the utmost class and has never been involved in stupid petty drama. And they go and do this to her.
