Help with Palumbo diet, macros don't add up!!!!
I'm sure most of you are familiar with the Palumbo diet. Using his recommended meals, I've put together my diet but his 60% protein 30% fats 10% carbs don't add up with his meal advice.
For example, I'm 205 lbs with around a 3000 calories maintenance
I'll be consuming 20% deficit so about 2400 calories.... but
Palumbo recommends 1 - 1.5 grams of protein per lb bodyweight. 60% of 2400 calories is 360 grams of protein!!! that 1.75 grams per pound.
Any suggestions guys?

What is your lean body weight. That should be your basis for the macros, not your flabby weight.
You can probably subtract at least 10 pounds just for water/fluid retention weight, so already you are down to 195, so if you're 15% body fat, your lean weight is closer to 165-170.
Your macros should be closer to: 255 protein, 85 fat, 17 carb, totalling 1853 calories. If you work a demanding job, up the calories by adding in more fats.Last edited by BigZero; 09-08-2016 at 03:56 PM.
