Do we really need this division, aren't BBers just BBers ...if anything, make a short and tall class to give everyone a chance?

Bingo. This division was not necessary whatsoever, especially when they already have the 212 for the lighter competitors (which is basically the equivalent of the old 'short' class in the IFBB).
Board shorts boys wearing boxer briefs has been the majority of what you see on both the NPC and IFBB stages, with the exception of a handful of former bodybuilders downsized.
I suppose a comparison would be with the WPD. You basically have pro figure women bulking up a bit, the new IFBB pros from female bodybuilding that were small compared to their pro sistren and a small percentage of IFBB pro FBBers downsizing. The latter category has not been successful with their transformation.

I agree.......I don't like the biker shorts these guys are currently wearing. You wanna call it CLASSIC PHYSIQUE......give them CLASSIC VINTAGE-looking posing trunks (ala Arnold's day)

The first time Dave flexed his glutes those classic shorts would have been in shreds.

Ka ching as in don't promoters pay a fee to have different divisions represented or offered in a show?
Ka ching!
Don't some athletes choose to compete in more than one division?
Ka ching!
Wouldn't there be a competitor who saw better odds for earning a trophy in a specific division and so paid for his entry fee, spray tan, etc. when without the bicycle pants he might not have competed at all?

Possibly.
Otoh, we've had nude models in art since the beginning of time.
And for bodybuilding I've seen pics of Larry Scott, Reg Park, John Grimek, et al. wearing, what, loin cloths?
Eugene Sandow and others in fig leafs?
I guess Ronnie Coleman in a thong could be called modest by comparison. O.oFacebook | Instagram | Twitter | Join Rx Muscle on Facebook!
