re the "I won" comment by Magos, Lada Plihalova offered the following on Facebook:

The full video even with his ENG speech....I do not agree with how he behaved as it was not athletes behavior, but apparently Greeks had their nationals one day (less than 24hr) prior this show (Diamond cup). At this show he won overall and the Diamond cup overall winner was 2nd place behind him, than they entered Diamond cup the next day and the guy took overall above him...and thats what made him mad, the video is full, I do not see any exposure though, except he verbally attacked the IFBB amateur president...this version is more clear and gves better idea what had happened...

Romano pushes his agenda of criticizing the IFBB come rain or shine. And the idea that what the sport of bodybuilding needs is competitors physically assaulting people to create excitement is beyond absurd, it's stupid. Vince McMahon tried to build a bodybuilding organization around the pro wrestling model. It failed.

Couldn't have said it better. Very juvenile point of view.

I liked the sports entertainment aspect of it .....some people like it some dont....

    UPDATE:
We got contacted by some people in the camp of the competitor....he might do an exclusive interview with us just so he can get his part of the story . . .

This could be great......at least we won't get slapped via satellite....LOL

The WBF didn't fail because of the pro wrestling model. It failed because of steroid charges.

"Allegations of steroids would eventually lead to federal charges. At the time, they led to McMahon implementing a stricter drug policy for his WBF musclemen.

The sudden change had an obvious effect on these men's bodies."

On the side note, after yesterday's termoil from the 2 year ban of all the Greek athletes pros and amateurs, the National Federation of Body Building of Greece has just reissued yesterday's instruction concerning all the Greek athletes with a minor change.
As of now,all the Greek athletes male and female amateurs and pros are forbidden to compete in any contest in Greece and in any other country as well, for the next 2 years IF they test positive in a doping control test that all the members of the Greek national team will soon be subjected.
That is positive although a bit vague,as who are the athletes that the national team is consisted of,what happens to the rest of the athletes, will they be tested as well?

A very smart and wealthy man tried to build a bodybuilding organization with a WWE style model. Federal charges related to steroids against McMahon didn't put the organization out of business. If it was making money hand over fist he woul have kept it around. He closed it because it failed as a business, end of story. The federal government didn't close the WBF. And I'm not sure what that has to do with the fact that the kind of behavior that took place this wknd is reprehensible and has no place in the sport of bodybuilding, and arguing that it was somehow a good thing is absurd. And let's be clear, the WWE or sports entertainment is scripted, physically assaulting a person is not the same thing at all. It's a ridiculous notion that this type of thing would be good for the sport. Ridiculous. This sport has enough trouble with its public image of roided out criminals. Championing them physically assaulting people is just what the image needs. It's comical that this is even a debate.

It's not a debate. You're not paying attention.

Romano stated, at some point during the program, that he doesn't condone the violence and also that if it had been scripted there's clearly entertainment value.

It's been reported on by TMZ and Rolling Stone. How often does bodybuilding get mainstream coverage?

Of course it's a bad thing, but Romano never argued it wasn't.

So the one time bodybuilding makes mainstream news is for this.. Wow that's just great for the sport. We're really coming along. And yes, he did argue it was a good thing. Did you watch the show?

Romano was trying to be absurd, he was goofing about.

Thats why the Jumbo couldn't contain his laughter.
