Anybody can build a good body. Only a few can be Mr Olympia. The problem is is some guys will never be honest with themselves.
I don't really see the point in competing if there is no potential to win.

But someone HAS to place 5th, right?
I've often stated that some physiques (cough) need to be in the audience while others definitely belong on the stage. Structure is so important. If you're like me and have shoulders that are narrower than your freaking hips? Stay in the audience.
Toney Freeman? Stage.
Vince Goodrum? Audience.

Its more the guy who dreams of being the next big thing and its not going to happen......ever.
Dorian Yates talks about this, the level of sacrifice needed to be a great bodybuilder, all the food and drugs and never partying etc. Dorian says why give up on the good things in life that a dedicated bodybuilder does not get to enjoy if you don't have the genetics to reach the top.
I kind of agree with that view, training in moderation and enjoying the good things is not a bad choice if you are not going to ever go places in the sport. All that food and drugs and early to bed......you would want to be getting something out of it for that effort.
