GetBig... the bastion of bodybuilding facts.

I certainly hope they are wrong as usual.

George was a little under the weather when we were in San Marino . . . but nothing that bad...

I hope is nothing serious . . . George was missed in Ohio.

Yes, unfortunately it's true, but it's under control.

Best wished to George (Cancer or not). He's a TOUGH guy, hope he will be healthy soon. Would love to see him well and on Rx muscle show with Chris and Dave even if they had some small/petty stuff, the guy as a good nature (good guy) and I'm sure Chris and Dave like him even after the Guruwar and stuff. Life's too short to be in feud for petty stuff
David Cua also called Donald Pump known for "making bodybuilding great again" !

I talked with George this morning as the rumor mill is out in full force. This info comes right from George himself

George has been diagnosed with cancer in his colon and rectum, it is in an advanced stage.

He has been undergoing Chemo for a few rounds, its anything but a picnic

George is very optimistic that he will beat this, as he's beaten just about everything else that has been thrown his way...He's doing everything within his knowledge to fight this and give himself the best chance at eradicating the cancer.

Most people know, George was shot multiple times some years ago...a few bullets still in his body as they were unable to remove them safely. Not sure if this has contributed in any way to his present condition.

He is not in the hospital, he is home and in good spirits anxious to get back to the business of bodybuilding.

Anyone that knows George will tell you the same thing, he's anything but a quitter. I can all but guarantee that he'll find a way to overcome this and be back in action soon.

How sad....I hope he beats this. He's certainly done a lot of positive for the bodybuilding community in my opinion.

I can't help but be curious wondering if his diet over the years was a big factor. The last few years I've learned the importance of fruits and vegetables. I also know these are NOT bodybuilding staples.

    X5 or 6 or 6,000,000...

And I Googled 'greatest contributing factor for colon cancer' and saw this.

More than 90% of cases occur in people who are 50 years old or older. Other risk factors include having—

    • Inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis.
    • A personal or family history of colorectal cancer or colorectal polyps.
    • A genetic syndrome such as familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) or hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer (Lynch syndrome).

Lifestyle factors that may contribute to an increased risk of colorectal cancer include—

    • Lack of regular physical activity.
    • A diet low in fruit and vegetables.
    • A low-fiber and high-fat diet.
    • Overweight and obesity.
    • Alcohol consumption.
    • Tobacco use.

    More @ https://www.cdc.gov/cancer/colorecta...sk_factors.htm

Regardless of what caused it, I hope he triumphs over this health issue.

Basically, all lifestyle "factors" that contribute to almost EVERY cancer. Kinda like with waist size, I think genetics are the greater factor.

GEORGE will beat this.........then he'll be able to tell everyone else how to beat cancer. That's what he's best at! Despite the ribbing and Chris and I give him, when it comes down to it, I consider him a friend and someone I care about. Let's all say a prayer for George during these trying times.
