Rangers got into a little tiff with the Astros last night.Pitcher hit Altuva and then later an Astro pitcher threw behind Napoli.Rangers need to start hitting the ball.

I thought Adam Jones handled the racial epithets by the Fenway fans diplomatically. He set the right tone. MLB immediately jumped in & condemned the actions of a few fans who made some very ill-considered remarks, & Jones showed what a class act he was & is.

As a die hard Red Sox fan, I can't believe they won't let this Machado thing die.
They've now thrown at the guy five times. Geez, you get one shot at it.CutlerAthletics.com

Machado is a hothead & has gotten into nasty back & forths w/ the Royals as well. He always makes it look like he was provoked, but he does his share of provocations. Chris Sale said "This is war" to his teammates in the dugout last night after he walked off the mound.

Kansas City, Kansas, is a thin sliver of a town right at the border of the states. Kansas City proper is in Missouri. The city south of the border is Overland Park, Kansas (generally called "OP" by locals), & it is in one of the wealthiest counties in the US.
I am about 100 miles outside of KC. But I like the Royals for reasons other than that they are local. Most baseball fans in my area are actually St. Louis Cardinals fans.

Most of Machado's post game interview was bleeped out. He got into it with Yordano Ventura last year. Teams were still pissed that the Royals won the World Series in 2015, because they saw the Royals as duffers (which they were for years) & didn't think they deserved to win the big game. I suspect they thought Hosmer's "mad dash" from 3rd base was a fluke & the Mets were a better team. If they were a better team, why didn't they win?
In fairness to Machado, he was one of the first players to express condolences to the Royals when Ventura died in the auto accident last fall.

A fluke when they made to the World Series 2 years in a row! I woke my kids up when I was sure they'd win the fourth game to see the end. My wife asked why the hell id wake them up at 11:30pm on a school night. I told her this is KC and it may be another 30 years before we see a championship.

The same thing happened to the Marlins, who were an expansion team that wasn't supposed to win the world series within four years of being started (as the Florida Marlins in 1993). They won the series in 1997, & everyone said they bought it. Of course the Yankees had been winning the world series like that for years, but they were supposed to win.
This year is incredible so far. Workouts & nutrition have transformed baseball. I just saw Joe Kelly, that skinny pitcher for the BoSox. He's not skinny anymore.Last edited by hifrommike65; 05-06-2017 at 11:20 AM.
