    Default Water retention

    I did a cycle of var and did retain water, dropped about 5 pounds in a week. Now moving into prep i have added primo and have put on about three pounds in the past two weeks and am not sure if it is all water but i believe some is. Also will be adding var as soon as i have it, start with 10mg and increase to 20. Is this a good idea for prep? I need to lose 5-8 pounds in the next 8 weeks.

    Anyone with experience? I know i shouldn't retain water on either primo or var, but i do. I am taking dandelion and don't want to add expel until late peak week.

    Have you tested these to see if they're real? I have a friend whose anavar turned out to be a weak dianabol and most primo I've seen is faked (low dose test) as well. Both will cause water retention, not to mention likely unwelcome other side effects. Dave sells roid test and there's also another test out there as well.

    Also do you feel that you've gained 3 lb of WATER WEIGHT or actual muscle? Keep in mind you are using steroids, they do have a tendency to build muscle mass. You may also be eating more as a result of the cycle. I.e. the scale is still only measuring the sum total of your bones, organs, lean muscle mass, body fat and water. If you're only going by the scale, IMO you're probably gaining some muscle. Also I can experience changes of 3 lb of water in any given day from morning to night - that is the joy of estrogen.

    Certainly if you are not sure, check your supplements , but 3 lb in 2 weeks after starting a more aggressive steroid (primo) is not something I'd really sweat about. There are a million different reasons for the 3 lb.

    Also I would probably not recommend to start throwing in diuretics, even as minimal as dandelion root unless you are seriously retaining water. If you're just starting prep, you want to keep the water manipulation to minimum. Water is a good thing in terms of building muscle mass and also protecting your joints while you're going thru the next couple months. Water is a short term thing so worry about it when you come into the last couple weeks of your prep.

    Right now most people find it uncomfortable if they are carrying a little extra while they are in the slow transition from muscle building to cutting phase and are mentally thinking in terms of dialing in. The reality is that the only point where "lean" matters is when you step on stage. Everything up until that point is about slowly conditioning your body towards that moment. If you're uncomfortable because you're not lean now, its a mental thing that should be set aside so you can focus on that water as part of the "cost" of going thru the "building" phase .As soon as you enter the cutting phase, you're going to be giving up muscle mass, and you don't want to give up more than you have to in the process of dialing in.

    And just to reiterate what I mentioned about the "value" of water - it protects your joints and provides a "growth" environment for your muscles. If you stymie that at 3-4 months out, it will cost you as do need to start paying attention to water amounts.

    Relax, ... water is a good thing!

    I hadn't read your post until now. Thank you.

    I am in a comfortable place prepping for my next show and starting to research what to use for bulking.

    I was 8 lbs heavier at my last show than the year before. Amazing! I will probably be another two pounds heavier by the end of the month and am still amazed and want more, LOL!

    I had to get my bran in the right place to accept that the scale meant nothing and that I had, in fact, put on muscle.

    So, in offseason. Ran primo and var for five weeks, stopped earlier than I wanted due to elective surgery. Doing 10mg Winny and love it! Strength is phenomenal. I’m going to add test prop to try and improve sex Drive. Any suggestions on what else to stack with test when I cycle off Winny? Is DIM really worth taking? What do most physique competitors use? I live in a limited and conservative area so there aren’t many women building, mostly bikini types, and the guys don’t know much about women and gear.
