Default AlexG is Rx Muscle's Member of the Month for May 2017!

AlexG is a longtime member, joining on December 14, 2009! Let's learn more about this femuscle-loving member of the forums!

    alexg.jpg

How were you introduced to the weights?

That would have been back in high school. I never had any skill wherein it concerns the group sports activities (i.e. baseball, football, basketball etc.) in PE class, but when I was introduced to the weight room it just naturally meshed with me.

How did you learn about Rx Muscle Forums?

Came up in a random surfing-search while online. The thread was the Epitome of Art: Feminine Physiques, started by Gaoshang Xiongshou.

    Great thread!

What’s your favorite part of Rx Muscle Forums?

    The camaraderie of the environment.

What would you do to improve the site and the forums in particular?

Well… fixing the image uploader would help. Having to resize / recompress the images or they won’t upload is nuisance. (Guess that’s a purely selfish plug on my part.) Otherwise, seems fine.

I must apologize about the image uploader. Not sure where that is so far as a repair goes, but it's definitely a glitch that needs addressed.

Do you have a favorite movie?

Interstate 60: Episodes of the Road. It’s not about the destination, but the journey along the way.

I'd never heard of that movie. It looks amazing!

Another one would be the Director’s Cut of Kingdom of Heaven.

What was going on 1,000 years ago is still going on today. Nothing has really changed except the history that you don’t know.

    Any examples?

I was paraphrasing something that Harry Truman once said: "There is nothing new in the world except the history you do not know." My take on that is that great events don’t repeat themselves in whole cloth, but Human nature has never really changed.

What is your favorite part of the iron game – strongman, bodybuilding, Men’s Physique, Bikini, etc.?

Obviously the buffed women of fitness, physique and bodybuilding. I’m an equal opportunity admirer of femuscle.

What's your favorite thing about bodybuilding?

It keeps me disciplined, forces me to stay organized on a daily basis.

What's your least favorite thing about bodybuilding?

People that I encounter that react negatively to the sport, especially the idea that women can be muscular and yet still be feminine, too.

    Women can definitely be both!

    AG-Denise Hoshor2.jpg
    Denise Horshor

Why do you believe some protest the combination? Or believe it can't exist?

Personal insecurities, perhaps. That a physically strong, and obviously muscular built woman, might be intimating, reminding them that they are not in as good shape. I’ve found that in a group that when this topic comes up, people might express themselves as negative, but in private on one to one basis they can be more receptive, are even positive. It’s just that they’re self-conscious of what others might think if they were to openly express their option as favorable.

What has been one of your greatest disappointments?

That gamma radiation really doesn’t make you Hulk out. Would that did, though.

Do you have any favorite bodybuilders or strength athletes?

Captain America, Mighty Thor and Travis Morgan: the Warlord.

Oh, you mean real world examples… Jorge Bettencourt and Matt Mendenhall.

    AGJorge Betancourt.jpg
    Jorge Bettencourt

    AGMatt Mendenhall.jpg
    Matt Mendenhall

And, wait a minute, Travis Morgan: the Warlord?

    https://infogalactic.com/info/Warlord_(comics)

DC Comics sword and sorcery character created by Mike Grell back in the mid-70s. Has elements of Edgar Rice Burroughs w/ lost civilizations, and hollow-earth parallels w/ his Pellucidar stories. The original full run title ran until the late 80s. Been resurrected a few times since, most notably as a mini-series in the early 90s, and about a decade ago again as a full run title, but was cancelled after two years. Grell managed to tie-up many of the loose threads left unanswered from the first run.

I'll have to look into that character. Thank you!

What about favorite female athletes or competitors?

    She-Hulk, Powergirl and Wonder Woman.

Dang, I guess I have to be serious about this… Raye Hollitt and Denise Hoshor.

    AGRaye Hollitt.jpg
    Raye Hollitt

    AG-Denise Hoshor.jpg
Another great pic of Denise Horshor

Have you met any of those athletes or competitors?

No, can’t say as I have.

What are the odds that Wonder Woman will be a critical and/or box office success?

Hard to say, DC hasn’t seemed to have had as much success as Marvel with its live action movies. Their greatest strength seems to have been with the animated direct to DVD films.

Just as a sidebar, in casting the roll of WW/ Diana, I would have gone w/ Gemma Arterton, but that’s just my personal preference.

And who would you have play the role of She-Hulk?

Not an easy role to cast, the gamma green Superheroine is rather tall at six-foot seven. Casting for the character of Jennifer Walters - at one point in the past I think there was talk of Jennifer Connelly, but now, probably a relatively unknown actress would be best at this point in time.

Would you go with two actors to complete the part of use CGI to present the transformation?

CGI is probably the way that they’d portray the character, but doesn’t age well as the technology advances. Somehow the old-school portrayal (assuming that they can manage to find someone with the right caliber physique and importantly has the acting skills) of using two different actors, if done correctly, seems more plausibly realistic to see in a live action movie.

Who is someone you look forward to meeting and perhaps picking their brain?

That would be a toss-up between Michael Savage and Alex Jones.

    https://www.youtube.com/user/TheAlexJonesChannel

What's appealing about those two personalities?

Entertaining, and thought provoking, even if you disagree w/ them.

    How’s your training going?

Keeping to my current schedule, right now @ three to four days a week.

And how long have you been training?

    About twenty-five years.

What’s the craziest workout program you’ve followed?

I’ve never really followed someone else’s w/o program.

What has been the most effective workout you’ve followed?

Keeping tweaking the variety on a weekly / monthly basis, otherwise I lose momentum.

    Favorite TV show?

(Then) Stargate SG-1 and (Now) Colony (on USA network).

What are three things you couldn't live without?

My mental creativity, my sense of humor, and the Internet.

    What currently drives you nuts?

    The current political climate.

    What motivates you?

It’s not all that complicated. Gotta eat, and keep a roof over your head, so you gotta work and pay the bills.

    What are your hobbies?

In my spare time I write fictional stories - novella / novel length. I’m probably best known on the fandom transformation forums, such as http://www.amaz0ns.com which was started by Lingster. I also enjoy gardening in the summer - tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, and red potatoes. I stick primarily to growing what I consider to be low maintenance plants, for the most part.

What type of fictional stories do you write?

Science-fiction fantasy. Some have been superhero / heroine focused, others have been mythological as source origins.

Currently I’ve working one that involves two opposing societies, one is Norse (Viking) and the other classical-styled Amazons that are being placed into conflict with one another by outside forces that are covertly operating unbeknownst to them.

    Awesome!

    Do you have any pets?

Not currently, but I have had cats in the past.
