Piana's presence does not bode well for this league. While Piana has a lot of fans, he is off the map of competition. He's strictly an expo act.

^^^ I guess Nike or Dorian see Piana as someone to drive viewership? Get all those fans lined up to pay for pay-per-view? Or how is this event going to make money? Didn't really take a good look. (hangs head)

Well, Nike's backing makes it new or at least it has an engine. Let's see if they support it beyond handing out t-shirts to competitors.

This could be promising if done the right way. But I don't know, the execution of this seems kinda lackluster at best, to me. But hey, I can be proven wrong, which I wouldn't mind be wrong on this.

I know nearly if not certainly for a fact that Arnold never stretched the tape to 6'2".

Though the Polaroids are lost to time, I was taller than Arnold in each fan picture from 1989 to 1992. I was wearing flat shoes or sneakers in each pic and I don't remember Arnold being in his bare feet during any of those Arnold Classic events. I was clearly an inch or more taller than The Oak (though he was miles wider) and I'm only 6'1".

Arnold is 6' tall at best.

And that was nearly 30 years ago.

The following article was posted on his 68th birthday.

    http://mentalfloss.com/article/66782...-actual-height

There he claims 6'1 1/8". No. Unless he was wearing boots.

But I pick up crayons for a living while Arnold is A Living God. Automatic 6'2" status in my book. The Book of Arnold!

    History written in stone.
I'm 6' 1.5" and in my photo with him at the 1989 Schwarzenegger Classic we were the same height.

That whole "Celebrity Guests Athletes" list is painful to look at. Guessing they draw crowds at the expos so they have loads of newbie followers and I'm sure it's a social media marketing move.

Rich Piana's business success is indisputable, and we're proud to have him join our Olympia legends and top fitness pros in rise of Super League.

Dorian Yates will be doing interviews with select media beginning next week to provide more details and answer questions. There are a lot of opinions around the rise, structure, and direction of Super League and we look forward to delivering something long overdue to the fans and athletes of bodybuilding.

Here is a link to the Super League website that explains how the competition works.....http://superleague.live

With Nike and Bodybuilding.com as the main sponsors it seems Super League is really going for it.

All events are streamed on Bodybuilding.com

Looks like the bastad child of cross fit and bodybuilding to me. No posing and no judges. Just lifting weights, measuring bodyparts for ideal proportons etc.

Might be a good time to interview Dorian with this event coming up.

It's understood that he does well business wise. I've also seen videos of his where he has not only had 5% athletes lift weights for reps but also talked about similar competitions. RX has, of course, had Bro's vs Pro's for some years.

The No1 problem is we don't see a clear and understandable picture of what the SL is about.

My No1 question is how much is Nike actually behind this group, team, what have you?

There's Michael Jordan-level support and there's middle school student support. A student was sponsored by Nike, but I'm not sure it was more than apparel.

Well this us coming up soon.

It's the same weekend as the USA'S.

    Hmmmm. Choices

I think me and my friends are going to watch this.

I have not seen any mention of a fee for spectators and all Lindsay shows cost an arm and leg to go see.

This is on today at 4pm in Vegas. I was surprised to see Iris Kyle attached to Super League. There is something wrong when a 10 time Ms Olympia is not closely associated with the IFBB. Somebody needs to mend this relationship.

Mend the relationship? They got rid of her division at the Olympia and the promoters of Rising Phoenix don't even want her at their show. There is no relationship.

Does the winner of this SuperDuper League get a free Dorian-autographed yoga mat and matching bong?

I am not saying Iris is to blame just a 10 x winner should not be in this situation. If the IFBB need to reach out to her then they should do it. This is not doing anybodies reputation or the history of bodybuilding any favors.
