When he won pro card I said that he will take some time off and win a pro show in his pro debut. Later he announced that he's gonna do NY Pro 2017 (he took more than one year off) and i was little bit nervous but I believed in him. Most people on forums disagreed but I hope they can get on Sergio hype train. I think he is a good bodybuilder to root for.
I think Sergio is very smart bodybuilder who understands pretty much everything he should understand. He knows how to pick a coach, how to pick a shows, he takes it slow with how fast he wants to progress. He understands how shows are judges. He can look at himself and others and he what's good and what else needs work. I was impressed with him when he said in Shawn Ray interview that Sasan Heirati was on his radar more then other guys including Akim. I think Sergio will become one of my favourite bodybuilders in next few years because he wont ruin his physique and work on showing up in shape every time he competes.
He has genetics from his father but he also has to carry heavy baggage because of his father. People will compare them and make his achievements look smaller because of that. He seems to have right mindset to overcome this.
Congratz Sergio. You absolutely deserved to win this one

^^^^^ There is and will only ever be one Sergio Oliva Snr, nobody has ever really matched his freakiness or had genetics so suited to bodybuilding. Sergio Jr must follow his destiny and create the best body he can and create his own legacy.
I'ĺl give it to Sergio Jr he has balls going into bodybuilding. My own father is sucessful in what he does and is well known in his field, growing up I felt the weight of this but I worked out in my 20's I would get much more out of life striking out and doing my own thing. Sergio must have a serious burden of expectation weighing on his shoulders just due to peoples expection of the name Oliva. I feel Sergio Jr should forget about the baggage his father brings and do it for himself to build wisdom and a knowingness about himself.
Oh yeah and he should enjoy his win........onwards and upwards.........

Sergio has the best DNA in bodybuilding, other than Hunter Labrada, who's about to go big.
Every sport loves its family dynasties. Every time a major league baseball player debuts who's the son of a former major league baseball player, the "young kid" (as the baseball wonks call him) gets a lot of attention. But the full attention comes from a young kid who can walk the walk. Sergio Jr. clearly can.

Sorry for Juan, seems that things are not clicking for him lately.
Its obvious that whatever he is doing for his legs is not working. Few months before he said it on IG/YT that he is no longer doing the "insane calorie diet", but looking at the package he brought on few previous shows seems that "cleaner diet" doesnt work for him.
3rd place was a gift here at NYPRO and in my opinion Sas Heirati was much better and deserved better spot.

Congrats to Sergio and would love to see him take it all the way. Seems to have a love/hate thing going with comparisons to his dad but I'm sure there are young fans who are not that concerned with the past who will judge him on his own accord. Even those of us with nostalgia for his dad will put that aside to judge him against whoever he's sharing the stage with.
Was watching the video a couple posts back but had to shut it off when it got to the point of CT Fletcher's dopey yelling.WNBF Pro Bodybuilder
