Dallas 'I'm only 26' McCarver
I see Dallas has reconfirmed he is shutting it down for this season and won't be doing the Olympia.
A little gripe I have is I think Dallas constantly refering to his age as only being 26 years old IS getting OLD.
How many Olympias had Arnold or Haney won by the age of 26. Rich Gaspari had three 2nd places in the Olympia by the age of 25.
By the time Cutler was 27 he had secured a 2nd place in the Olympia. I don't see Dallas achieving that next year.
My point is Dallas isn't a kid any more and needs to stop hiding behind his age. He's got a lot to sort out in his offseason, my suggestion would be he starts sorting out whats between his ears first.

I guess Dexter might be giving competitors the idea that they can compete at a high level into their late 40's (even though he's more of an exception).

Dallas can pace himself any way he wants to. It's his career.

Ronnie Coleman did his first show of any kind in 1990. He was 26.

Can't really compare anyone to Ronnie's genetics though especially not Dallas. When Ronnie started doing gh with slin it was game over. If Dallas cant put manners on that gut its game over at 26.

Yeah Ronnie didn't do any of that until '94 when he was 30. Crazy.
I do think Dallas still has an opportunity to be a top tier bodybuilder, albeit with a smaller career window. I'm sure he's taking off the 2017 Olympia because he knows he'd be in the 8th-9th range again when taking time to make improvements to his back, conditioning and posing will result in a move up the ranks, especially with some guys very near retirement.
The great thing about bodybuilding is like you mentioned, it's up to these guys ... where they go from here. He's in control of his own body. That includes the mental part.- BODYBUILDING -

Dallas does not have the lines so he needs to overpower the competition like Jay did or a Wolf. I see Dallas being a long way off that. Maturity will help him bring detail if he hasn't destroyed his body before then. To me he is a classic blown up bodybuilder who bulked up very quickly and forgot about quality control.
I don't think he's a genius so he needs a clever man in his corner. They don't come smarter than Aceto.

I will shift discussion of bodybuilding genius to its own thread.
