Experienced Competitor Needs a Miracle
Before.jpgLegs before.jpg
Hi, sorry about the pics. I'm an experienced competitor with Ronnie Coleman Syndrome. Nerve damage has left me with a limited ability to train my torso muscles. I have degenerative disc disease c3-c7 and nerve root impingement in my right scapular area. Can't strain on any pulling or overhead movements. Chest has always been a weak point but this has taken it to a whole new level. Prepping for a photo shoot with my daughter in 13 weeks. If I look good a week away I am going to jump on stage. Borderline type 2 and prescribed 1500mg of Metformin a day. Can't go nuts with carbs.Minor BP issues so can't go nuts on the drugs.Just started a new cycle after HRT only for a year. 40mg tren, 125mg sust, 100mg Mast, 100mg Eq. All EOD. I can't do much in the way of cardio or my chest will disappear. Any suggestions?

I don't mean to sound discouraging but you look and sound like a mess. I would go back to the drawing board. I don't think this particular sport is for you with all of your issues.
The only thing I can suggest is get your cardio through plyometrics/powerlifting/oly lifting, etc. Anything that gets you out of breath while attempting to build muscle. It's truly the best kind of "cardio". This indoor machine crap is useless.

The before pic is admittedly bad. I don't carry much fat but what I do carry is in my lower abs and lower back. I was worse off last year when I had to gain 20 lbs in 60 days. Wasn't able to dial in but I won the open light heavies at a small show and the over 50. Can't do much time under tension because it inflames the nerve but explosive power movements seem to help. Doing 10X3 in bench with explosive movements. My abs and serratus will be shredded. I get lean easily and flatten out even easier. Was hoping to try to dial in predominantly cardio free(except for about 4 hours of weekly walking). Big thing is to try to grow somewhat of a chest on that small amount of gear.

Not doing full keto. Throwing in a full 1/2 pound of broccoli, a few tablespoons of black beans on my eggs at night(sleep), and metamucil in my protein/flax oil drinks. Taking in 3100 calories and about 250 on the protein. I have had the muscle before. Its just a matter of regrowing it without inflaming the nerve in my scapula. When that happens I get a searing pain in the right lat, rear delt, and right bicep. General right side weakness that lasts for weeks. Going through the motions with back and stopping several reps short of failure. While my back could use improvement it isn't a glaring weakness like my chest. I can do low rep flat bench and incline flyes without pain. Can bomb DB upright rows without pain. Can do side laterals but can't "squeeze out" reps. Can do seated db presses but have to stop a rep or 2 short of failure. Every show I have done it has been a wait and see. I'm kind of mentally going into it with the idea that I am prepping for our photo shoot. If I look good enough to win an over 50 I'm going to jump in. If I don't like the way I look I'm not going to compete. Pulled a Kevin Levrone last summer and went from 165 lbs to 185 on stage in 60 days. Didn't have time to dial in. This time I am giving myself 14 weeks but not much in the way of drugs. Never took this little tren before. Worked magic with my physique at 100mg EOD and a gram of T a week. Just don't feel like driving up my BP. I'm 187lbs now. Hoping to fill out and lean out my torso. Arms are good. Legs aren't big but they have deep seperation and get grainy as hell. I can also do DB pullover without pain as long as I don't take it to failure.

This was last summer at 185 and age 50 after a solid 60 day cycle/prep. Size came back but wasn't sharp.

What about using a SlingShot for some flat bb bench work and banded pushups? I can get at least double the reps of the same weight with mine and I find I can get a pretty sinister pump that way without taxing other body parts that need a break. Granted, you'll need a handoff on the bb work because it gives you serious t-rex arms LOL. I'm thinking it'll get you a little hypertrophy boost without upsetting the back.
