Justin Compton sits 2017 out
from his FB
"I have never been one to compete unless I feel like I can bring my best. 2017 got off to a bad start so I've decided to sit the season out. I have been able to free up my schedule alot and get back to doing something else I love for awhile. have always limited the people I coach down to 4-5 friends because of the traveling I had these past 2 years, but I've got a clear calender for awhile so I want to extend my knowledge to those that's looking to bring their best package to the stage! I will be taking on a limited amount of clients as all emails will be done me, no bullshit like some of the other offers online, and each plan will be very thorough and personalized. Please send inquiries to [email protected] Lets get some wins!"

1. Josh drops out of the Arnold's
2. Dallas collapses on stage and shuts down 2017
3. Compton has a poor start to 2017 and shuts down 2017.
It looks like we won't see any of bodybuildings bright young things at the Olympia. The Top 10 at the O will mostly be guys over 40 or pushing 40.
This is a significant blow for men's open bodybuilding.
There was a time when the boxing world heavyweight title was the No.1 prize in all of sport..........now hardly anybody knows who the heavyweight champ is.
The powers that be need to take a hard look at open bodybuilding before it fades into a haze of chemically induced coma.

If Justin doesn't feel he's ready to compete, he is right to shift his competition plans to next year. I have spoken with him, & he's level-headed & knows exactly what he wants to accomplish.

This will have ZERO affect on the Olympia. If the top 10 are 40 years old or more...who cares? They most likely are the best at the time. The Olympia will go on and no one will care who "didn't" compete. Just like Kai's non-participation. Made no difference. He's doing what he wants and the Olympia rolls on.

Every sport needs new blood coming through to keep it fresh and to ensure it has a good future.
I preferred when top competitors were in their 20's. Arnold retired at 27. Lets see how many 40 year old plus bodybuilders die prematurely.
All the same I'm looking forward to watching the same old tired faces at this years Olympia. Maybe somebody will come within a mile of beating Phil this year........unlikely though.

Mr. O doesn't have much suspense anymore. The big question is who will get 2nd to 6th. I'm more interested in the 212, Classic Physique, & Women's Physique.
