Kai Greene given special invite to Olympia 2017
And he liked it! I'm sure it's all been worked out with The Rock, Pecker, Manion, Chang and company. Kai will get a nice paycheck to give this televised Olympia some added appeal.

He can't win.
Best years are behind him. Love Kia but he is like 45 and his physique was its best in 2010 or so minus the olympia condition problem, just in terms of potential it had. His delts were fuller looking then, his back, legs, and pecs were thicker etc.
While he still had a lot in 2011, 2012, and 2013 by 2014 it was apparent he wasn't the old Kai and even in 2016 he wasn't.

Win or not, this would be big news & a welcome reversal of the recent trend of pros shifting to enterprise (usually supplement companies & expo appearances) & social media. Hope he does do the O. It will add to the event.

Hmmmm. This could get very entertaining. Last year Kevin, this year Kai. Doesn't matter if they win. It DOES add another dimension, which IMO is good for bodybuilding.2016 RX Member of the Year & March 2015 Member of the Month

Why even qualify at shows...have a big social media following and you'll just get a free invite...thats not a good look for the ifbb

I'd really be interested in more there? Lol
Social media is huge but, no, that alone won't get anyone an Olympia invite. Gotti, Kai is popular but he also has the physique to step on stage.
Honza, I believe social media could have kept MuscleMag International in the game. Really wish Robert Kennedy would have embraced it.Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Join Rx Muscle on Facebook!

Kai deserves an invite. Now the ball is in his court.
As for Musclemag, I will continue the discussion on the thread I started on the mag.

If Kai shows up he will get the title. The ifbb is looking for ways to keep things interesting. After Jay Cutler stop competing, the open class took a big hit. Phil looks great but he doesnt have the personality the ifbb wants. He is not a good ambassador for the sport. Everything is about social media and they know that if Kai is the face, they will get the publicity that is needed. Everything now is mens physique, classic and bikini. A million athletes at npc and ifbb shows. By the time mens open goes up its like 11pm. Mens open is lacking. Bad..!!!

Kai is easily the most popular active (of possibly active) IFBB pro. Him doing the show EQUALS $$$ for the promoters. It's a smart decision to extend him a special invite. I've seen kai recently, and he's in better shape and bigger than he was 12 weeks before he won three Arnold's in a row last year.

I like many had the view that the IFBB would never give Kai the Olympia becsuse of some of his extracurricular activities.
Kai got on network TV and starts earning himself a reputation in the mainstream and.............suddenly the IFBB wants to be his best friend.Last edited by Big Beat; 06-26-2017 at 07:22 PM.
