Joe Rogan had an interview with Dorian Yates where he mentioned reverse hypers and showed a video of Louie Simmons. Rogan said it's great for bulging discs! In fact, Simmons in the video below states he believes reverse hypers will cure bulging discs.

I have done them with a DB between my feet. No gym I've visited has ever had the machine. I've found they ARE great for healing disc injuries and training right through them. I've done 30-40% of max squat weight because I just can't hold a heavier DB between my feet.
