Can Flex Lewis Beat Phil Heath? Iron Debate
IFBB Pros Fouad Abiad and Guy Cisternino join Dave Palumbo and John Romano for another episode of Iron Debate, powered by Yamamoto Nutrition and Pro Tan USA.
The bodybuilding world was rocked last week with the passing of Dallas McCarver and Rich Piana. In addition to the death of Kyle Norris. Should there be mandated health screening for active IFBB pros and NPC competitors?
Also, is Flex Lewis unstoppable in the 212 division? Should he move to the open class? How would he do against Phil Heath and the big boys of the open?
It's Iron Debate, powered by Yamamoto Nutrition and Pro Tan USA, on RXMuscle.com.
When in doubt, get bigger.

Flex's physique is definitely more aesthetic. Better calves, broader shoulders, better abs, but how tall is he?
Momo beat Yates at the 1990 NOC, so why couldn't Flex beat Phil in thirteen days?Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Join Rx Muscle on Facebook!

No, Bonac and Dexter are closer to Heath than Flex Lewis is ... as far as the shorter guys go. You can add Brandon Curry to that list now, too.

Flex is unstoppable. I also think Flex would be a top 6 guy in the open for sure.

This will always be an ongoing debate. I not saying this because I'm short (5'7) but height should be irrelevant. The more complete and best conditioned bodybuilder should always win regardless of height. IMO, If Flex comes in sharp with the size he has I see him in at least the top 5.

The debate shouldnt be can flex beat phil....it should be who is more dominant in their respective division
Being short shouldnt hurt....being short should help...flex phyisque is better than the likes of cedric or a wolfLast edited by Young Gotti; 09-02-2017 at 09:35 PM.

It's been asked before - like every year. We've seen the odd photo of a lean but heavier off season Flex. So I'd like to see a 220-240lbs Flex go up against the rest of the open class.

5'7 is not short for bodybuilding. Nearly all the champions were in the 5'6 to 5'9 range.
I would put Lewis at about 5'3 so small for bodybuilding, a midget in regular life.

It should be but isn't. It's instinctual. Even an experience judge cannot help but have a visceral response to a 6' plus and 300lbs behemoth walking heavily on stage. The 5'7 fella turns, looks and is just about at shoulder level. He looks up, then up some more... and it's game over. All other aspects being equal.

I was at a pro show where someone attending who was 6'5" was taller sitting than one of the standing competitors, who was 4'11.
Also wanted to quote Danny Padilla: "A good little guy can beat a good big guy at a bodybuilding show."Last edited by hifrommike65; 09-03-2017 at 02:47 PM.
