Phil Heath is terrible and has been regressing since 2011. His physique is ugly. For a guy with arms as big as his, his front double is the ugliest out of all Mr. Olympia's in history. I'm so tired of the 3D argument. The guy has come in Friday nights looking like a clear 4th place and still gets first place votes. It's pathetic.

I don't know about oil but the huge shoulders and arm combined with being narrow makes his chest look very small in comparison . Some may even say he's incomplete in that regard.

1. I didn't post those photos of who I thought was better than Phil Heath, though I think they all were at times in their careers (Ronnie, Kevin, Dorian, Kai ... among others), but I posted them because of the looks on their faces. They humored me.

2. Phil Heath is narrow. It hurts his taper and his chest. His abdominals have gotten noticeably worse over time, also affecting his taper. The narrowness, abs and chest make his front lat spread a weak pose. His regressing abs make his ab/thigh shot a weakness. For a guy with such huge arms his front double has become a disaster. He has to assume an odd, small, crunch pose when he hits the front double in order to control his abs instead of making himself wide and broad. Also, he doesn't have good shape and flow and isn't "pretty" like Bob Chic always says he is. His traps are great and his lats are mediocre. His lats get overpowered in back lat spreads. Everyone thinks he has a good lat spread because of the detail from the traps (ie, Luimarco). The primary reason for a lat spread is to demonstrate width and thickness of the lats. It's a lat spread, not a trap spread. Phil is also obviously jimmied up in areas more than most. His posing has zero grace. He doesn't respect his competitors on stage. He's not inspirational or motivational for fans. He's fake. It took fans a couple of years to catch on, but fake shines through hot like the sun. Phil Heath has not moved bodybuilding forward. And he has not moved his physique forward since the fall of 2011. Yes, he has rebounded slightly from worse versions of himself, but has not moved forward. And he is not just the gift, he is the FRIDAY NIGHT GIFT. Obvious third and fourth places in pre-judging that get rewarded with first place votes, essentially giving him a mulligan and an entire day for Hany Rambod to make adjustments to bring him back to respectable levels.
