Phil Heath - Worst Dominant Olympia Champion of All Time
Sergio Oliva - Freak of the 20th Century
Arnold - He won 7..........thats where any comparison Phil has with Arnold ends.
Frank Zane......redifined bodybuilding, the aesthetic physique. Did it his way and won.
Lee Haney........pushed the sport to new limits. Built on what Arnold had started.....just made everything bigger.
Dorian Yates.......First of the mass monsters. Combined mass with conditioning in a way never seen before or since.
Ronnie Coleman......took bodybuilding to levels that won't be repeated for a very long time.
Jay Cutler.......Has six runner up spots.....battled the best until he finally reigned. Had the mass to compete with Coleman.....who else can say that?
Phil Heath.........em eh yeah ah............meh

Some years Phil has been great. But this wasn't one of them.
He needs to quit playing the size gameCutlerAthletics.com

I disagree... Everyone knocks Phil because of the level of bodybuilding today. But If he was born a decade or two earlier, he would look better standing next a better crop of talent. Other than his stomach issues, there isn't a bad thing about his physique. Would he have won 7 Sandows, no. But he might have stolen one or two away from a Late Era Ronnie, or Jay, or Haney, or even Later Dorian.

If he had stolen one I wouldn't mind.........he has 7.
His physique is not an advancement of the sport but he has 7 Sandows???
Worst dominant Mr Olympia of all time. Shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Arnold, Haney, Dorian and Ronnie yet he will be. That was a very poor Olympia line up.
Everybody hanging their hopes on Ramy a guy with hips the width of a rhinocerous who looks exaxtly the same relaxed as he does when he hits a shot.

Why do you think I care more about the 212 than the open Olympia now?

That gut along with his narrowness looked really bad. I don't care how many striations you have in your ass if you have absolutely no taper.

Most complete olympia winner ever
He combines size, shape, and conditioning that no other olympian before has been able to put into a single package
Jay had size but his shape was awful
Ronnies physique was huge but ugly
Same with dorian
Dexter had shape but not the size

Lee Haney had size, shape, symmetry and a tiny waist unlike Phil who looks like he's about to jump into a swimming pool with an inner tube wrapped around his waist.
Every other dominant Mr Olympia brought something new to the stage. Phil brings nothing new. He's the luckiest champion of all time because the line up is so poor. Kai Green would have walked back into 1st or 2nd place if he could be bothered.
There's a freak or two out there we just may have to wait a bit longer to see them. Until then its mediocre Olympia's with a mediocre champion.

Top 5 analysis
Phil : Needs to have his hernia fixed and work on the midsection. Also lower back/glutes were thicker before but thats nit picking. Champ has maxed out but can keep winning if he improved midsection. Has to train abs or figure our how to get them back. They are his ONLY weak point.
Ramy: Needs Chris. He was close this year but to me he looked not as lean so my guess is that they dried the shit out of him and he looked like his muscles lacked pop. Look back to Arnold Europe 2016. He and Chris bring that look again, with the size he added. Its lights out.
Bonac: Not much he can do. I thought he was a little better last year actually, but looked better this year as Dex and Rhoden were more off.
Dex: Looked like age got to him a bit. Glutes and back not as popping but might have been a tad fat or not lean enough. If peaked better can do well on tour and make top 6 again next year. I personally think he should retire at 50. Would be a pretty cool feat to compete on the O stage at 50.
Rhoden: Needs to come in like he did at night. Needs to be more aggressive. Needs to train all year. Would be nice to see him bring his legs back up (see pics from 2015 prejudge HUGE legs). Also needs to wear a waist trainer all year and work on that midsection. He gets that thing smaller (see 2012 Dallas Europa, 2012 Arnold Spain,2014 Arnold/Australia --- Tiny) and he will do even better on front double, front lat, side chest, side tri, and abs and thigh. Only Him and Ramy have potential to beat Phil.
For fun, Cedric: - Needs to get his shit together. And Thicken that back. He should smoke everyone in the lineup outside of Phil and Ramy, but he shows up off. He talks about this isn't a fight/battle etc, well he need to wake up and see that as long as he has that mentality he aint in the fight for top 6 an its a shame.

Funny...Arnold may have been great for his time. The level of competition wasn't near the same as now. Found this video comparison Arnold vs Phil..not even close

Dexter's legs looked down on last year. He might be the first vampire to grow old.
There's a lot of talk about Ramys v-taper. For me I can't get past his super wide hips.

Arnold was a monster for his time. Phil has big arms but not Arnolds peak. Arnold destroys Phils chest. Keep in mind Arnold first retired 42 years ago. If he took what Phil is on he'd be up there with Ronnie for size.
In boxing a fighter is defined by who they beat, Arnold beat legends. Phil beat a veteran Jay who was well past his best.
