Did Ramy just win an IFBB show or an IFBB pro league show?
Hopefully someone can straighten this out for me. So due to the recent split there are now two organizations in bodybuilding.
IFBB Pro League/NPC- Run by president Jim Manion. IFBB pro athletes compete in these events, Olympia, Arnold etc.
IFBB/ifbb amateur- Run by president Dr. Raphael Santoja. Amateur league with separate pro section designated as "elite pro. IFBB pro athletes from manions organization do not compete in these leagues.
With that in mind can someone explain this:

Dr. Raphael Santoja and Arnold giving ramy the prize at the Arnold Spain, which is what I thought a manion run ifbb pro show. Do these wins count officially? I didn't think Santoja had anything to do with these pro events anymore. He wasn't even at the Olympia.

Good God, how is this confusing?
IFBB-Raphael is Amateur.
IFBB Pro League is, well, PROFESSIONAL.
Ramy is a professional.
1 + 1 = 2
Forget about who or what was making whatever appearance for the sake of Politics.
Pro Show = Pro League
Raph's IFBB = AmateurLast edited by Triple-H_2005; 09-23-2017 at 05:44 PM.

The change is not taking place until 2018
That's why Rafael was involved with this.CutlerAthletics.com

Arnold was originally European, with roots & alliances there. We'll see how it evolves.

Hey Bob what's to stop a future3 split in the IFBB Pro League if someone thinks they can make a few more bucks?
Boxing has lots of world organisations.....WBA......WBC......IBF......WBA.. ....IBO.......IBC........WBF.........etc etc
Remember Roy Jones Jr after winning a fight with 7 different organisations world championship belts wrapped around every part of his body.
Boxing has got so bad nobody knows who the heavywight world champion is anymore. That belt was once the pinnicle of all sport.
Whats to say somebody doesn't pull the rug from under your feet in a couple of years.
What goes around comes around.
Bodybuilding, bodybuilders and fans are better off under one coherent world organisations just like the IOC and FIFA. Fragmenting the sport might make some guys pockets lighter and others heavier but that is a short term vision for the future.

First....history.
The IFBB ( and subsequently, IFBB Pro League from 2005)...established themselves over 50 years ago. The Mr. Olympia became the universally accepted title of "worlds best" and Joe Weider built an empire.
Much like in other sports, there has pretty much always been one federation, org, etc. that has risen above all others with the best players.
The NFL, MLB, NBA, PGA, etc....all are recognized as the bets of the best. Same with the IFBB Pro League. Competitors want their name synonymous with the past greats of our sport...Scott, Schwarzenegger, Haney.....
Same with the Amateurs...Much like I looked at the past winners of the USA and wanted my picture on that wall at Golds Gym Venice, and then compete as a IFBB Pro.
There are two mountains ANY Bodybuilder wants to scale.
IFBB Pro status
Competing on the Olympia stage
The Europeans have been held back, fleeced for money, had their dreams squashed because of a antiquated system and a split business model. No more.
The IFBB Pro League will dominate worldwide just as the NPC has since the early 80's here in the USA.
