The young guns exodus from bodybuilding continues:
Bumstead
Grimes
Montgomery
Dallas is gone
Bumstead has health issues
Where is the new generation of North American open mens bodybuilders going to come from.
Why don't they want to be huge they cry!...........premature death thats why
I agree with Jose Raymond that not everybody can get the massive physique needed to compete in open boodybuilding but can we also ignore guys not wanting to kill themselves with mega-dosing. Also I don't believe for second a 212 or classic competitor needs as much gear as a tall open bodybuilder.
Just because people want to see freaks does not mean a guy should be pressured into putting everything on the line to satisfy other peoples voyeristic interests. Some of the peer pressure on Regan Grimes is pathetic and I hope he is wise enough to ignore it.
As my father used to say when we I was a kid "just because some guy jumps off a cliff doesn't mean you have to jump off a cliff."

I posted at the time of Dallas' death that his life would not be forgotten.
Maybe this was the moment young bodybuilders woke up and smelled the coffee.
There was always more to bodybuilding than just mass, maybe a change is a coming.

It was no surprise Cody was disappointed with his Arnold finish as he was a perennial winner. I posted at the time of the Arnold that as a young guy Cody would take the loss hard. Looks like it took him at least a year to get over it.

Thinking about it bodybuilders in past who did not have the class had to have the mass. Now class is overrated.

It's hard to believe I made these screen captures 4 or 5 years ago but I was really impressed with Cody's refinement at such a young age. I think this was his 1st Teen Nationals win at 17.

I wish Cody the best in whatever he decides to do. Classic or open. Who gives a fuck what anybody else thinks. Its his body, let him or Reagan choose what they feelnis best for them. Guys saying "He's being a pussy or doesnt have the determination to be in open". Who cares..!!!! Bodybuilding today is NOT what it was 10-20 years ago. Its all about social media and how to market yourself now and days. If these guys feel they can do better in classic, then good. Its like saying then, if your in the 212 you are a pussy cuz ur not in the open.

Cody is a good guy and it’s always smart to consider your health, but he is going to have a tough time doing well in Classic. Genetics come even MORE into play in this division.
