Just posted on his Instagram & Facebook page.

People think fame equals happiness. It doesn’t. FAME ISN’T EVEN REAL. People think popularity means having a ton of great friends that love you. It doesn’t. Trust me, the idea of fame and popularity is a lot better than the reality of it. It doesn’t fix you or your problems. I fight the same battles as you, sometimes worse.
    .
I’ve suffered my whole life from depression and terrible anxiety, but ever since I became popular on social media, it’s become even worse. Somedays I’m exhausted from the constant struggle of trying to be and appear stronger than I feel. Stronger for my family, stronger for my friends, stronger for my followers, but never STRONGER FOR MYSELF. I’m always taking care of others, taking on their problems to hide my own. I’m surrounded by tons of so called “friends” who don’t love me for who I am but only for what I can do for them. No joke, I’ve actually lost friends over not giving them money, free stuff, or a shout out on my Instagram. Imagine always being surrounded by people but never having felt more alone in your life. Always having to put a smile and say “I’m fine” when you’re really not. That’s my life almost everyday. Some days are better than others thanks to three things: the gym, music, and all of you that follow me.
    .
The gym saved my life, PERIOD. It is the best therapy. But so have all of you. My inspiration to continue being Joey Swoll, to endure this life and fight is knowing I help and inspire so many of you everyday. So many of you can relate to the same struggles as me, are going thru the same hell I’ve gone thru, and I want you to know that I’M HERE FOR YOU. I’ve got your back. And THANK YOU for having mine.
