Sean Allen looks like he NEEDS to get back with Dave, he looked like he still needed at least a few more weeks of dieting

Why don't you guys look at my physique and my placing at the '07 USA in which i did my own diet. I placed 7th there as opposed to 10th last year. I was harder and 4 pounds heavier. My color was crap because I was using dream tan, otherwise, it was my best look yet. Get your damn facts straight! I was definately off this year. I haven't been in this sport very long so it has taken these last 2 years to figure out my body. I was trying a few new things that ended up backfiring on me. I have tried quite a few different approaches in the last 2 years and i have now decided to go back to exactly what I did for the '07 USA as that produced the best look yet. (other than the color) That is what bodybuilding is about. You have to learn how YOUR body responds to things and determine which method is best for YOU. Stop running your mouths until you look at all the facts. Again, look at my physique at the '07 USA. Then you can talk.

Here you go! For those of you who didn't take the time to look at the pictures of me at the '07 USA doing my own diet vs. the '08 Jr. Nats and '08 USA working with Dave. Try to look past the color and oil issue and pay close attention to the detail and fullness of my back. You decide which physique looks the best. It's pretty obvious to me...

Well it looks like you found what works better for you. Dave doesn't shove his dieting principles down anyone's throat and has said many times before that all diets will work, but if you come to him, he uses a keto approach. Maybe you needed more time to fill out in the 08 pics than the 07 one, or maybe you just do it better your own way, but both are possibilities. And for the record, when a lot of guys do leave Dave, they tend to not step on stage in their best shape...and that's, as you put it, a fact!

Nobody was talking about 2007, yes you looked damned good in those pics from 07, but the comments were regarding what you said in the video, about how the keto diet was the reason you didnt look your best, and that was the reason fell behind in the placings, and how you were going to look so much better on your new diet this year.. and you then showed up and looked worse and placed worse too.. and continued the prevailing trend of people bashing the diet and leaving, then looking worse afterwards, what did you expect us to say?

Well you can't blame guys for trying something different. We all have to try different things to know what works and what doesn't. For example BSA and Freeman....they both tried different things and now they know what doesn't work and what DOES work which is valuable.

^^ Very true. Nothing wrong with finding what does and doesn't work..
But agreeing with zack, that does seem to be the trend.

I will agree with you guys about a trend with guys leaving Dave and looking worse. Someone mentioned that it seemed more prominent with the heavy and super-heavy guys. I think the reason for this is that Dave puts everyone on the exact same number of calories whether they are a middle-weight or a super-heavy. The super heavies are obviously going to be at a higher calorie deficit than the smaller guys and therefore will lose more muscle. When they strip off 15+ lbs of muscle in a short period of time, they become a little paranoyed about losing muscle when they diet the next time. I did look worse at the USA's this year than last. As I have said before I had a couple more things I wanted to try out before I could really determine what methods worked best for me. I have now gone back to exctly what i did for the '07 USA. I am getting ready for the North American Championships coming up in about 3 weeks and I will step on stage with conditioning that matches or beats what I had in '07 but I will be much larger. I figure I will be around 265-267 lbs.

well actually even with Evan winning his pro debut, did he even bring that different of a physique???? Maybe a slight bit more fullness and obviously size due to the long offseason but really was he and more conditioned by carb cycling and he said himself that he felt better on the keto diet. So if you bring the same conditioning with maybe a tad more fullness but nothing THAT significant, and you feel better on the keto why would you switch i think...and mesomorphs like evan dont need to worry about fullness and muscle loss at all. Even flat theyll still look much fuller than most of the comp without even trying, he's a freak like that....

I thought I would update this post. Here is a pic of the 2009 North Americans doing my diet vs. the 2008 Jr. Nats doing Dave's Diet. For the guy who said that I should realize I had a good thing going with Dave, here is why I chose to go back to doing my own thing. I obviously still have a lot of work to do and I still am having trouble coming in a bit flat but my method worked better for me.

My above post was directed at guys like you. Take a look at the pics and see if you still think that Dave's diet was what worked for me. Since I had looked better the previous year before working with Dave, I knew that his diet wasn't what worked for me and that is why I went back to doing my own diet. My diet was what originally "worked for me". That's what I should've kept doing but you never know until you try some things out.
